OK Michael, Tim, I still come here from time to time and have a bit of a browse around. At the moment I am administrating FZR250.com, and 2 years ago I thought it would die off due to lack of interest but there has been a resurgence of members. Tends to be mostly learner riders and with the bike bei...

Did a re-edit of the Savage river ride and reloaded on a different host. Strung together about the last 18 minutes with some music. http://www.vimeo.com/12315650 And if anyone is interested in a bit of offroad riding, my son took a bit of helmet cam video last weekend. As you can see it is winter he...

What a top video, dave, the awesomeness of Tassie doesn't stop. I'm really looking forward to going to Tas early next year, lots of windy roads, for a 2 week bike trip :banana Hey, I don't know where to go, can someone post a picture of a Map of Tassie :P ;) Glad you liked it. Modesty prevents me f...

Real Tassie Devil Country Ride Video

OK - This is not taken on a FZR so I hope you forgive me.. The local Ulysses club branch (if you have not heard if it, it's a club for riders over 50 YO) went for a ride to a mining town in Western Tasmania and this is real Tas devil country. The last 20 odd minutes of the road is very winding and t...

I use a USB - serial to get data from my GPS. One thing I noticed is that the com port assigned to the adapter depends on which USB port I plug it into. If I plug it in the same USB port all the time it is always assigned "com2" but when I plug it into the other USB port it becomes "com3". You CNC p...

I think that Lorenzo will get the title either this year or next. He always seems to get better times and results than Rossi but just needs to learn how to stop the occasional crashing out.

With 3 or 4 riders who can mix it up now MotoGP is getting more interesting.

It is being shown live here in OZ on our new HD channel ONE, at 3.45am for a 4 am start Tuesday morning... We are not going to get to see it in Tasmania as the ten network decided not to introduce their new HD channel "ONE" to the state, citing "no demand".. It was scheduled for replay Monday morni...

For automobile use the tyre places use a blast of compressed air directed around the rim into the tyre beads to expand it out. Normally a big cylinder of air is discharged all at once to do the job. I have seen a small amount petrol put inside a tyre and then ignited. The resultant explosion will do...

I came across it when I did the "instrumentation and process control" endorsment to my electrical trades certificate about 15 years ago. Apparently the effect is used in some liquid mass flow meters.

Never seen it actually used though :)

I thought it may been that the rotation of the earth that affects whirlpools differently in the northern and southern hemispheres, would also influence the handling on left Vs right. :D

Just to shoot the theories down in flames, down under we ride on the left hand side of the road and I also feel more comfortable on left corners.

I guess other down under members will chip in shortly with their views, as it is still early evening here on the east coast of OZ

What happened to that poor girl? I've been down a couple of times at or near 100mph with only a leather jacket, jeans and gloves ... .......felt a rush of wind hit my face like a brick and our bodies separated in an instant; my visor had come completely open. The force pulled on my face and helmet ...

I am afraid to say that I wasnt that struck on the 1st Harley ride I had last week, a 300Kg vibrator on wheels. After a 3 hour ride I was glad to be home. I was stiff and sore for a couple of days afterwards. Certainly different to the FZR250 that I ride.
