spark plug gap difference ?
85 FZ1040 I am still in the process of doing my second motor swap. The first swap (2 years ago) was fairly straightforward from the 1AE(750) to 2GH(1000 87-88). It ran great until the connecting rod broke! Now I am almost done the second motor swap from 2GH to 3GM(1000 89-95) (a lot more involved). ...

I don’t know if I just had a bad batch of rods or the rods are weak? Get the rods if you are that far into your motor!!! I am still pulling pieces of aluminum out of my shoes. I have not dissembled the motor yet but it is easy just to look in the big hole in the side! The rod broke just a little below the wrist pin (the narrowest part of the rod). I don’t know if you had your rods shot peened yet but I would look in to it! My motor was similar to yours Chrissy.

My FZ broke
My bike broke and I am sad  The connecting rod on cyl#1 broke and destroyed the cases! I am looking for an 87/88 1000 motor. What are the major differences between the 88 to 89 motors? I know the chain line and the front mounts are different but that is a little machining and fabrication. I am ...

Ah, so you leave on the second amber. I was always leaving right on the green. I don’t deep stage so I will try that. That will affect r/t and not ¼ mile time right??<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :rolleyes --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON E...
