You can get coloured rubber tires, I hear they aren't that great though. Be cool to have on there once though. It's a pretty neat bike though.

I haven't dropped my FZR yet, but last year with my first bike (ex500) I dropped the thing at least once a month just pushing it around, ad putting it up on the center stand. Haha, it's all a learning experiance.

Brake pads always touch the rotor, I think from what you are describing it's not a problem, as long as you aren't experiancing warping or anything. If you can spin it freely and still hear the drag, you are in the norm.
