Brake disc noise continued
I forgot to mention I have R1 calipers fitted. There were no shims in them when I replaced the original pads, so I assumed this was standard R1 stuff. The pads I replaced were quite worn and the discs, although not badly scored, have definitely seen some use. I think I might have to get some newer d...

Brake disc noise.
My front discs have started to squeal at low speed or when nearly stopped. At high speed I have no problem at all. There is no judder, and I have even tried new pads. Plenty of copper grease applied to back of pads, but still they squeal. This is driving me nuts, I am even considering new discs. I e...

Front Fork Alternatives
The end of this saga.
After much kicking around of ideas, some from friends others from suspension experts, I ended up having just a fork internal rebuild. This was only bushes, seals, Ohlins fork springs and new oil. The mechanic who did the job (a very good job indeed, well done Russ @ K2 motor...

End cans
My exup came with an ART race can, but it is also been fitted with a Dyno jet kit and K&N filter. No real flat spots except in really hot weather when I am having to follow slow traffic, and it does not like a big handful of throttle unless in a really low gear. Otherwise goes fast enough to scare y...

Suspension
Thanks again to all who have replied. I now have some answers I can use , and some of my own to post. An Ohlins shock costs about £435 plus £12 carriage from Harris. I think this is the right price but I am going from memory as I wrote this all down at work and then forgot to bring the bit of paper ...

Front fork alternatives
Many thanks to all who have answered. It is a 1992 model with upside downers fitted. Guy I bought it from, his son said it was a RU model which signified upside down forks. I am sorry about the Kyobi and not the proper name. Where are my best options for obtaining the Gold valves, remembering I am U...

Front fork alternatives
I was wondering what alternatives are available for my 1992 RU Exup? I want to overhaul or perhaps replace the front forks. Harris no longer list Ohlins replacements except for the fork springs. Are Ohlins springs and new fork oil, seals, etc the way to go? Should I trust the work to someone like a ...

Fuel Tap
Your fuel tap should be set to being pushed foward for on, and press the switch so it goes down towards the choke lever for reserve. Watch out if your bike will not switch to reserve. This means that the fuel sensor in the petrol tank has died, and you will need to renew this item as it tells your f...

Headlight bulb replacement
What bulbs can I replace my headlight bulbs with. At the moment I have 12v 55/40w weird looking things in there. Can I replace these with a standard H4 12v 60/55w Halogen bulb, or will it damage the lense or wiring. Or maybe they will not even fit at all. Many thanks to any answers given.
Cheers...
