Re: Shock linage ratios
My plan is to use the EXUP shock and longer dog bones. From what little I know of these progressive linkages, I think it will make the suspension less progressive.

First, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to cause any unanticipated problems -- like creating a <!--EZCODE UNDERLINE STA...

Shock linage ratios
Do changes in shock length change the progressive rate of the shock linkage? I assume (yeah, I know the danger of that...) the shock length won't actually change the ratio, but changes where you are on the curve.

From reading earlier posts, changing the length of the dogbones causes a change...

Engine mounts
On the 88 FZR1000, the bottom rear engine mount is rubber mounted. Looking at the parts manuals, it looks like the later FZR1000 used solid mounts. Same with the FZ750's.

Any harm in fabricating aluminum bushings to replace the rubber bushings?

Chris

Carbs mix fuel AND air. Most jet kits only change jets related to the fuel circuits. The flo-commander is a way to adjust the air side of the circuit. A local independant mechanic let me have a peak inside an FZR1000 with YZF750 head last spring. He said he had to modify the combustion chambers to clear the piston crowns. Re: headlight
Again, some experience from the FJ1200 world. On those bikes the stock Yamaha wiring to the headlight is weak even for stock bulbs (I'll bet the FZR wiring is no better - thus the low-wattage bulbs stock). Doing the relay mod will increase the voltage at the bulb - and increase the brightness of eve...

As for Yamaha parts - none that will do you better. An FJ1200 rim '89 and later will bolt up, but it is only 3.0 inches wide.
