Re: 2013 Season Update

The airbox on the YZF, is it genuine or a replica?
I think it is genuine. Not sure how to tell :)
picked up a kitted 94 ZXR which has all the good bits
Yeah I have seen snippets of info around the forums. Looks like a nice bit of kit. HP is good :)

2013 Season Update

http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii79/Mike_GSXR/build/side_zps84610710.jpg I haven't contributed to the forum much lately so I thought I would write an update of how the 2013 racing year went. I had a different plan for the year and, yet again, not everything went to plan. The plan was that a mat...

Re: New Years Project Resolutions

Continue development of the YZF race bike but with a different rider. Made good progress on the suspension in the second half of 2012 and will get someone else to ride it in 2013 (someone faster :) ) I have been seduced by a 955 Ducati which I will race this year.

Re: EMRA Round 1 May 27

Good read Jon. I completely understand how races you look forward to are not always good and other ones suprise you.

Personally I'm not a fan of racing with motards but as long as you are having fun :)

Re: What motorcycle mags do you read?

Went off the mags for a while but my daughter recently bought me a subscription to Australian Motor Cycle News which is OK. I think I prefer Two Wheels though. The editor of Rapid has started a new mag in Aus called 'Knee Down' which is aimed at Track Day riders/Club Racers. Very Aus but a good mag.

I wear bamboo socks. Expensive but comfy and they seem to soak up sweat well. :)

St George HONDA RJAYS Series Round 1 - Eastern Creek

Thursday/Friday After a half day at work and then a spirited competition with some work mates at the local go kart place, I hooked up the trailer, picked up my mate and his wife (G&T) and we headed off into the night. Another mate of ours who was entered in the same class as me was having carby issu...

Re: easter cup, mac park, s.a.

Yet another great read Steve and congrats. I'm not sure I would even go out in iffy conditions. Full dry or maybe full wet if I was feeling OK, none of this patchy in between stuff for me :) Well done!

Re: victorian road race champs rd1 at broadford race report

I hope you built a big trophy cabinet Steven :) Another good write up. Interesting that you are allowed to do practice starts down there. A real no no for us up here which sort of sucks! Good luck at Mac Park at Easter. It looks like I will be running around Eastern Creek that weekend in the first r...

Re: Warwick Challenge Cup

Will you still be coming to the Barry Sheene Festival of Speed? Unfortunately I had to cancel my entry and I won't be coming down at all. (With me pulling out that leaves one Queenslander in PreModern... Brad on his Fireblade. I reckon he may go OK :) ) I was eyeing off the Easter meeting at Easter...

Warwick Challenge Cup

Well, after a break of 18 months or so due to various injuries I decided it was time to line up on a start grid again last month. The break from racing all started with a practice day high side, a long spell to heal then another practice day high side then another long spell...see a pattern here? I ...

Re: New Rear Sets for our FZR's

Hmm Lean=Risk. Looks like moving your body over will get you less lean for the same corner speed, or same lean with more corner speed.
Yep figured that out after I fell over a couple of times. Move my arse a bit more now :)

like the strategically placed chair Used to be my smoking chair. Now I have given them up I can't sit in that chair any more, makes me want to light up to help with the pondering :) I've heard of draggin the back brake around corners Whilst I was using dangerous levels of lean angle when I had thes...

I bought some of these for a YZF750 a while back. They stuck out a lot and scraped badly. See pic below.
