Re: Is it me or?

Cycle World has a great article with Freddie Spencer, Nick Ienatsch, and Don Canet riding back to back super bikes, a direct comparison between an 0W-01 and and R7, never mind the ZX-7R, RC30, GSXR limited, Ducati....

Re: '13 season racebike prepare progress.

One tip, this is a lever saving hint from my dirt bike friends. Remove the clutch and brake perches, wrap a couple layers of (plumbers) Teflon tape and re-clamp. Usually it will tighten up enough to not move until an impact, bit not be so tight as to prevent a couple of hits with the heel of your ha...

Re: official confirmation

Yamaha rep informed me that they are now going to disregard the traditional model releases before and at the bike shows and industry expo's. There will be something in the neighbourhood of 6 all new models (bikes, sleds, or atv's he wouldn't specify) in the next 3 years. The brand new Bolt motorbike...

Re: He's no John Britten

Not saying small bore isn't a good idea, and the year after the 125 cbr went on sale, the showrooms were full of ones the shops couldn't sell and the classifieds were packed with them. As a money making proposition it's the cheap and easy way to go. He's not doing it to make money, he's doing it to ...

Re: He's no John Britten

In his mind, light makes right. Some of the E-bikes make good power with too much weight, he wants to see that kind of power and very low weight. The purest expression of that will be a race bike, taking on the giants means doing something completely different. 400's are great, but won't sell here s...

He's no John Britten

But as a designer involved in the M1, and lead on the MT-03, what he's doing has me interested. Nothing at all to do with his Canadian-ness, nothing at all. ;)

Re: official confirmation

That was when you did it enough times to get down to twenty minutes to swap, now you change the oil every 4000kms, or upon spring storage, the oil filter every 20,000 and a valve adjustment every 40,000. After a couple valve adjustments you may need to swap the motor as it will be getting a little t...

Re: official confirmation

Not much use for a snowmobile in NZ :D they have been using a triple sourced from 3/4 of the FJR to make almost 1100cc for a number of years in the Nytro sled lineup. Turbo guys are seeing 240hp easily. My question is how much of this will transfer over? If any.

official confirmation

A cross plane triple liter BIKE will be on display at next years Intermot show.

Personally I'm interested to see how much different the engine will be from the current triple 1000 they have, or how much will they "borrow" from the existing tech?

Re: New, 10 yrs, 20 yrs

i Read a couple write ups on the 14, better than 30 pounds can be lost with a couple nice carbon fibre TBR slip ons. Gives a nice sound to an incredibly quiet bike. A bike like that should somehow sound like more than a chain and sprockets whipping by. :D

Crutchlow, my pick for the man to watch in 13. I like Rossi, there's only so long you can bang your head against a wall before you get tired of the headache and move on. Let's see what he can stir up this year maybe some shenanigans again?

Put the track bike back to rideable and find some money for new gear. The first will be much easier than the second.

The Leonid showers are much more pleasant to watch while laying in the backyard with a beer in hand, but I'll still be checking out some falling rocks in the next little bit, I'll just have to bundle up more and take a break from making ice.
