Re: Christmas and New Year

I'll stick my nose in from time to time. The Dutch YZF750 forum has had less visitors and even less post through the last years. I guess we're a dying breed trying to keep the old steel horses alive.
Oh well, on a long enough timeline the survival rate of everything drops to zero.

Re: Forum Software Update

Hi Thom, good to see you're still hanging around! From time to time. Is there a spell checker with this version? It's easier to have the Spell checker enabled in your browser. As far as add-ons, so far I think it is a bit slim. The old 2.0/3.0 software packs had tons of mods and styles available On...

Re: Dang!

The last wave of Russian script-kiddie-frenzy on my forum was about two months ago, and a hotmail or gmail ban wouldn't have helped. What did help was changing the spambot prevention from the GD pictures to Q&A and dumping some simple questions in the form. Went from 5/day to zero.

Re: FZR1000 EXUP Emulsion toobs group buy

I would love to take a set off your hands, but I need the YZF750 (Mikuni BDST38/4) needles, which appear not to be similar to the FZR1000 (Mikuni BDSR38/4) needles (surprise). OEM part numbers I found: Tubes (YZF750 & FZR1000): 3GM-14141-90-00, 3GM-14141-92-00, 3GM-14141-94-00 Needle YZF750: 4LE...

Dogs come when called, cats take a message and get back to you.

I like how the dogs and cats in the video explain the different coaching styles....

Re: Ignition key switch

What's the easiest way to tell what you've got without ripping a bunch of stuff off? I take it the black one goes on the lockout closer to the top triple clamp? The items left/right in the pictures match up. (Sometime compulsions do come in handy) Other members on the Dutch forum reported they only...

Re: Ignition key switch

A mate of mine replaced the key ignition switch with a pullswitch on his trackday bike, no more looking for keys 5 minutes before the session starts. Do watch out for the differences in ignition switches: http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/9926/stuurslotgatuh1.jpg http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/19...

Re: Home made gear indicator for the YZF750 (and other model

Let me put it in other words 12 volts are hooked up to the display, and only the connections you make to ground through the neutral switch should light up (b&c when in 1st gear). Te neutral switch can only be on one of the selections in the green box, the gear you select. So the diodes allow cur...

Re: Home made gear indicator for the YZF750 (and other model

You could use a 14 or 16 segment display for better looks, but I personally don't think the extra soldering is worth it. The 7 segment display used has a dot (DP) in the lower left corner. Another guy let that light up when power to the GI was applied (just needed an extra resistor and a line to the...

Thomvis, Can you please if you have time redraw the schematic for the electrics. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/27655351/yzf750/Gear%20indicator/GearIndicator.jpg And about letting an amount of LEDs burn according to the gear your in, looks cool, but here I have a device telling me the gear, instead of me...

"We found 23 flybys over your area in the next 10 days" That isn't all that much, I expected more. Decades ago, my uncle came to visit us, but he had to be outside at a certain time. "Why?" "To watch SkyLab pass by" "You can see that?!" I was never so fascinat...

Home made gear indicator for the YZF750 (and other models)

There's 12 pages of discussion, pictures and sorts about this on the Dutch YZF750 forum, and after some questions from other members here it is time to do a crude intersite copy-paste action. http://img828.imageshack.us/img828/8012/img2119resize.jpg The original how-to on the Dutch forum comes from ...
