Couple little tricks from my ZRX1100 days

..... I did the block off plates and air box plug trick. Gave you a little more response at low RPM, anyone ever done that with a YZF? How about modding the internals in the gas cap to allow closure without the key?

Re: One more time on the gas question....

Thanks guys, and Rob! Someone said it was safe to use it, but don't store it with any on the tank. I'll avoid the ethanol completely, Son's bike is a '96 FZR600, should probably not use it there either!

Re: One more time on the gas question....

Here's what I've been running.... the no ethanol stuff. Son's using the regular.... '94 YZF750-stock on the non ethanol. '96 FZR600 with a Yoshi-jetted on the regular sound right?

One more time on the gas question....

O.K., I know it's here and there, but I've gotta get the bottom line on this. Sons running a 96 FZR600, and I've got the YZF750R. I was told that the FZR600 can run normal-ethanol containing gas with no problems. That actually the regular-low octane is good for the FZR600. Mine on the other hand sho...

Joe Rocket

O.K., just picked up a blue/white Joe Rocket jacket.... needs a cleaning. It's nylon I believe, not leather. How does one go about that? There are no instructions anywhere!! And, has anyone bought one of these leather Yamaha jackets from Bangladesh/Pakistan/Canada? Look really sharp but I don't want...

Re: Ignition key switch

Gotta be the ignition switch itself, the tank and seat lock work fine! I'll have to putz around, would be nice to get a new one as I'd probably end up with two keys. Only have one now and don't know the code.

Re: Ignition key switch

Great.... now only do I have to find one, but find the right one!!! What's the easiest way to tell what you've got without ripping a bunch of stuff off? I take it the black one goes on the lockout closer to the top triple clamp?

Ignition key switch

Has anyone successfully used anything other than a stock piece when replacing a YZF750 switch?
