Thanks for all the fish.

Hi all, thought I would inform people here that I sold my yzf750r over the past weekend. I actually traded it in on my new bike (an '03 bandit 1200s, yoshi pipe, 14 000 k's) as I needed something a bit more reliable in the longer term and my yzf was getting up there in k's (close to 80k) - as a trad...

My Sister just got me from the hospital so I could not see her yet. :(
That sounds positive for you - at least you appear to be well!

Hope Jello turns out all right.

SHARP - helmet safety scheme

An interesting site... http://sharp.direct.gov.uk It is a UK based helmet rating scheme. While certain countries have defined standards (e.g. ANSI in the states, DOT in Canada, AS/NZ in Australia) to evaluate helmet quality these are simply a pass / fail type scheme and don't let you see the details...

Good ad's here in Australia! That one was put on by the Motorcycle Council of NSW - a motorcycle lobby group (very well organised, and well funded by motorcyclists). Other motocycle lobby groups aren't quite as well positioned as they are at the moment (the one here in Victoria used to be, but then ...

I've been using it since beta. I just installed the last release candidate for v.3.x and it's simply amazing at how fast it will load/run php and javascripts. Agreed - the new version is much quicker. Can't use the new version at work yet as it is not a formal release (and therefore the IT people w...

On my 750 it really does not run well at all without the air box and filter on. It will run, just not very smoothly... I'd suggest putting the airbox and filter on and see what happens - takes 2 seconds to put on (no need to screw it down at this time) and see what effect it has.

It's not illegal here in Melbourne! (I won't say it's legal either - more of a grey area). Police tend to let you go ahead and do it in what they perceive as safe situations (e.g. at a set of red lights), but don't like you doing it in moving traffic (e.g. when a 100 km/hr freeway is moving at 30 km...

Depends which 600's he's referring to! Perhaps he is considering the 600 cruisers?

Factory pro kits... advice

I am looking to replace my emulsion tubes (aka needle jets) on my '96 YZF 750 with those from Factory Pro. From what I have read on this site, these are a common source of problems on YZF750's and need regular replacement... As I know people have used these tubes in the past, I hope to draw on their...

Thought some people may be interested in this auction, at least as a novelty if nothing else. Re: Race on Sunday

Anyone watch the race @ Phillip Island today? The start of Race 1 was brutal!! Dude's Boot came of in a crash on the starting line. When I say came off, I mean it CAME OFF and went flying some 300 feet..... Unfortunately didn't make it trackside this year and watched on TV. Much better views from T...

I like that little test. Only got 78% - but the pulley questions got me for the most part. And a few 'silly' errors (such as accidently clicking the wrong answer and not being able to go back and change). I am amazed that my year 12 physics lessons on circuits stuck with me though!

we don't have the distinction made yet (at least not in the legalities of road use). Currently the national road laws (which are modified to each state) allow lane splitting through a loop hole (NSW have blocked this loop hole, Victoria hasn't). This includes high speed 'splitting' or low speed 'fil...

In Victoria Australia (i.e. melbourne) lane splitting is not illegal*, and is tolerated by almost everyone (so yes, I do lane split - I limit this to non-moving traffic). There was even a report by Vic Roads (our government road body) which indicated that lanesplitting at lights can be safer for a b...

Hydraulic clutches - why? (curiosity question)

I was just curious... several bikes have hydraulic clutches on them (including my yzf750r) and I was just wondering what the benefits of this are? I know that some people on this forum have looked into switching or have switched their clutches to cable clutches, so am curious why do manufacturers ke...
