cooling it

In order to use a 93 in a 90 set-up, you must change the Oil pan, pump, filter housing, oil piping internally. All components from the 90 must be installed on the 93 engine. If you want to go the other way and use the 93 cooling system, which uses a spin-on, you will need to go with a 93 radiator. I...

Every long ride I'll get that one ? "Aren't those Leathers Hot?" "Do you really need that much gear?" If there's one thing I've learned is that if you're not wearing it, you would've needed it!! If only she was wearing a pair of leather pants with hip p rotection, she could be sleeping on that side ...

That may be one of the upgrades Yamaha did in 02. Internal changes are always hard to find unless released in Yamaha News or an article covering model was that informative. I can't say for sure. DUDE, I agree, the brass is BAD A$$. You have teh exact same set-up as mine and it doesn't get much bette...

correction

Barney, you are correct, sorry. Gold dots started in 02. I have a Brembo MC and throttle locking bar ends that are all a brass/ gold hue. Plus the forks on the R1 are the same hue, so with the gold dot calipers, it looks bad a$$!

calipers

In 1997 Yamaha began using one piece 4 piston calipers over the two piece design they had been using on all models to that point. The YZF 1000 had a pipe that went from one side of the caliper to the other. In 1998 when Yamaha introduced the R1, it used the same design but with the cross-over intern...

Yosh

$150.00 It's Aluminum with an aluminum mid pipe. In good shape and sitting in a BOX waiting to go somewhere else but here. They are out of production so, there aren't many left. Newe units I get from Hindle for around $300. The Yosh isn't that loud, but sweet flow and look. I'm a HUGE Yosh fan, yes ...

CDI Box

It would seem that fuel pumps are becoming problematic. Joyce's FZ pump went out, Cosmo's old one died, and a few others have now added to the list. Remeber that the fuel pump only "clicks" when cycling, which is caused by the lack of fuel in the bowls. It is not a high pressure system, so in basics...

fits

All exhaust applications for 89-95 FZR 1000 and all YZF 750 models are the same. This is for Slip-on only.

Coincidently enough if anyone needs a nice Yosh RS3... just ask it's sitting h ere waiting for a new home.

Re: calipers

If you need to rebuild, it may be easier to cut a set of used R1 calipers. The last time I rebuilt a set of YZF 750 calipers, it cost more time, money , and hardache then a $40 set of used R1 Gold Calipers.
CHUCK D.

Re: yzf tanks interchangable?

As far as I remember, yes, I have a 97 YZF 600 tank that is too rusty, If you want it to try or whatever, you pay shipping and it's yours. The best candidate would be an earlier one like you suggested. They use the same miold and shouldn't be a problem.

CHUCK D.

Dyno vs fact pro

I've found that the factory needles are a bit better in design. $180? that seems a bit high, where are you located?

As for hesitations, don't forget to leave your servo plugged in.

Chuck D.

stock jetting

Don't forget, if using exup, no need to change jetting. All you need is needles and possibly springs, although some times better with stock.

Chuck D.

no time like the present

Yes your tubes may look fine, but they will go and if they're off and apart, factory needles would go great, as per float height, if problem persists, try 1mm lower fuel level. Make sure the the flaot needle touches the the tang, but doesn't press in the top spring.

Chuck D.
