Re: Kit and Maintenance manual for 07 R1?

Thanks Michael, I've got the kit manual I need, I'll probably join one of the r1 forums, but thought I would ask my brothers here. The 07 motor and swing arm will go into a 88 FZR special. I've decided this is the easiest way to get 200+ rear wheel HP I need for LSR. It is going to be a ve...

Motor Storage Ideas

For ages I have been taping up the alternator openings on good spare engine's in storage I don't intend to pull down. Many don't have alternators. The tape invariably falls off, and leaves the opening exposed to the elements. Today I was moving a couple of engines, tape had fallen off, and I had thi...

Getor Shop - Ebay

Here is a store that caters for our range of bikes. He has a huge stock of gaskets, rebuild kits, for brakes clutch cylinders, inlet rubbers, full gasket sets, lots of carb parts including diaphrams, bowl gaskets...etc etc, all at good prices, especially if you live in the states or the EU. Fairly c...

Re: OW01

Not being anodised it is quite possible to make up sections and weld in repairs. Peter Day would be the man to see over there. Pop riveting the frame protectors on never really made sense to me  I've got a couple of frames with holes, some need replacement rails as well, all can be ...

Re: 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 and R1M

I think the R1-M is a homologation special in the true sense of the word! Only 500 made worldwide, it speaks homologation with all the electronic trickery, Yec quality swing-arm, kit type radiators, forged magnesium wheels. ti rods electronics, and it is a completely new bike built to circumnavigate...

+1 valves.

Hi family, when +1 mm valves are used on our engines, are the valve seats changed out as well, or is just an opportunity to move the seat position outwards on the oem insert (.5 mm) (to facilitate porting) and use the center point of the valve face on the oem seat? Dunno if that makes sense or not? ...

Re: EXUP Worldwide newbie - old brotherhood member

I agree regarding the 89 exup, it was indeed a production 1000 cc version of the OW01. Frame styling, bodywork all very similar, I would really like to add one to the collection, as a race bike or roady
Bimota YB8-11 headers are Yamaha exup, so they definitely fit.

Re: Dyno

I thought I had replied to this post already  Is this the guy who did as a masters or doctorate study on the project he called the Dyno 46. I bought one of his kits, similar to this? Why not? The block of steel you need to build something up to 200 rwh only costs about 2500 au, machining ? de...

Re: EXUP Worldwide newbie - old brotherhood member

Hi Yamaman, thanks for the update. The force is strong in you... lol. It's great to read an impassioned write up, and to feel your happiness in relation to your 89 Exup! I agree with you in relation to maintaining the Exup valve for general and practical use. There is a huge hole in power where it u...

Re: Christmas and New Year

I'll get with Hooli and see what the actual costs are. If I remember, it wasn't much. Really can't see the board going anywhere any time soon. Cool :) The number of times I've had to refer back to old posts and info is often. Plus plenty of new projects underway, including some shed reno's....
