can anyone explain here what portion of the valve is ground? Hooli, the only grinding as such would take place on the valve face, if for instance it had a slight irregularities due to pounding the seat over a period of time. Ideally when rebuilding an engine, you would use new valves such as the ki...

No pressure... :) You can probably go an extra 20 on what we discussed Tony.... It would be great if the part does just bolt up as alleged, as i said to Cam in a pm, this is the only way you will really find out the realities. Looking at the parts manuals I'm not convinced, but hopefully we will fin...

I just added the link.. So far the only bike work I've had to pay for, or have done for me, is the re-boring of the R5 cylinders. I like developing the skills and knowledge, that allows me to do it myself. Not to mention the savings. I also have a number of heads here that need work. I think I will ...

I'm looking at buying cutters Kiwi, I don't think grinding seats is really as good an option as hand cutting. Valve faces though can only really be ground, any good quality automotive facing machine should do... providing you can find Collette's small enough to entertain the valve stems. I know Stev...

IMO Channel Ten should be shot for their pissy coverage. Disgraceful. 50 min, 3 add breaks, not even enough time for the presentations. No 125's 250's or even interest in the presentation... They reckon they are the sport station???? Just a colloquial rant.. :angry

Okay.... One more question Ozzy. Just say you used 10% methanol in your fuel mix, and added some moisture (water to the mix) as they do in turbo engines etc. How much if anything would this aid a highly strung race engine? (GREAT PHOTO)!!!!!!

1/2 a cup may do it... I'm not a chemist so don't really know.

If you were to add 500ml, 1/2 a liter to 10 litres of premium unleaded you would have a 5% mix. You would fix your moisture woes. 1/4 litre 250 ml would probably do it also.
