Single cable works fine, no worse than the dual. The bike only has 4000 klm on it, the butterfly's etc are in good condition, and the spring quite firm. They in fact bang shut. I don't think Stan is running the second cable on his fizzer either. It was Stan who suggested a thread on the subject... I...

Yep, I think your spot on Cam. I found this page in relation to RS flatslides. I don't envisage a problem with the 929. I'm going to run a 1/4 turn MX unit and see how it goes.

When push comes to shove
Can anyone tell me why modern road going sports bikes have push-pull cables? For instance my CBR929 (undergoing rebuild (lol)).. has such a set-up, though the butterfly rack also sports quite a heavy spring, that is responsible for the throttle valves return to idle seat. The return cable is never i...

Aye, I hear you also Tim. I have read your 'interesting day in the track' (lol) post and I can relate to your attitude and approach to adventure and injury. It is a quality I admire, respect, and live by also. I was going to make the comparison Kiwi, between motorcycle racing and relationships, but ...

"Every time" (lol)… Yes I hear you Kiwi. Why it is that the object of our desire…. the thing we love so much, also has the potential at any split second to kill or destroy us? It is an ironic paradox for sure, an attraction that I’m not sure that I understand, nor wish to. The intoxicating mix of sp...

Kind of reminds me of someone's description of ex-race tyres that have been severely overheated in the past, but you would know better about that. You know Cam, perhaps they were or had been overheated, hence my warning in regard to buying only what you have first hand reliable knowledge of. In the...

Thank Guys, I'm fine-ish definitely not finished :) We had been having trouble with the rear spinning up (everywhere) for the two previous sessions, I wasn't minding it loose, it is sort of fun, though it really shouldn't have been lighting up at all. We tried pressures etc, to no avail, it just got...

runner up is 1st looser is it not? Work it out from there? 1st looser 2nd looser etc.... There can only be one winner. (Casey) Meladari is not even a privateer... He is the end result of a very cynical mathematical equation. The economic downturn (lull), really, has little to do with economics, more...

These are scans from Australian Motorcycle News Vol58 No16 18Feb-3Mar 2009. I'm sure I'm breaching copyright, somehow, though they have been correctly referenced :) Keep in mind Cam that Melandri is on a unsupported bike. As Stan says, to avoid a 40 million dollar fine. What chance to you think he r...

Don't get me wrong, I hate to see anyone struggling, (Hmmm, maybe Max Biaggi) and I personally are a Tosland fan... Hell, I have a British passport :) I have an interview from after the prang, sums it pretty well up. I'll see if I can scan it. Here are the day 3 results... He's not completely last. ...

Should be interesting for sure. Sounds like Tosland is putting himself under undue pressure. I'll bet he is last again. MotoGP Official Night Test at Qatar - Day Two, best times 1. Casey Stoner, Ducati Marlboro Team - 1'57.139 (37) 2. Valentino Rossi, Fiat Yamaha Team - 1'57.747 (51) 3. Colin Edwar...

Okay here's a pick of it finished. The first attempt see pick upwards had a triangle thing for the breaker bit. This was no good for two reasons, firstly as you pushed down the triangulation pushed into the rim, and the arm being straight didn't allow enough stroke to break the bead. The new one is ...
