The later Thunderace carbs (38BDSRs) do have a different spacing which makes me wonder, how different is the Thunderace motor compared to the Genesis and Exup?

I don't know for sure about the Diversion but FZRs with an oil cooler run a second stage on the oil pump to feed oil through the cooler. If you just block it off you'll effectively stall the oil pump (or at least have it running on the bypass all the time) which will put a big load on all the drives...

Save your money and stick with the originals would be my suggestion. The OW forks were made for racing and were pretty highly regarded - the R6 forks are mass produced roadbike items.
