I'm missing one step: Sanding Building my streetfighter fairings I've spend evenings on sanding, from grid 40 all the way up to grid 1000 (don't know if outside Europe the gridsize is the same). When building for a "rough" paintjob or expect to paint in thick layers, you can stop around grid 240. Sa...

Nice project in progress!
Are you gonna keep the original fairing colours? Looks like too much gold to go along with the red, or is that just me?

I cheer for all of them, as long as there is good racing on the track (I read Simoncelli racing dirty? cheer-1 for him). I've seen races (when I've been able to watch, I don't stay home for them) where Stoner/Rossi/Hayden/Whoever where in front seconds apart, and #5-6-7-8 are battling whose front wh...

How about grinding some grooves in the rollers to give it some bite. Works well dry or wet.

I was looking for a picture "I hate Christmas", but all of a sudden I'm a believer, and choose to be bad (the knife part I'm not too sure about):

I guess this is not the YZF750 LH handlebar switch? I looked at the wiring diagram of that one and the green is headlights, and black is straight to earth. If they differ that much it might be worth forgetting about the original wiring and build a parallel system to do the turn signals, preferably u...

Very nice, specially like the front-fork -> frame connection, never seen em that smooth (probably cause I wasn't looking ; ).
Come to think of it, its 10+ years ago I did any decent cycling.

I had to look up the Sykes Pickavant brake bleeder , doesn't look that high-tech, just a catch can. I'm using a vacuum operated bleeder found on Ebay . You put the hose on the bleed nipple, apply air-pressure, open the nipple and watch the fluid drain from the reservoir, topping it up before it reac...

That's what I've been told (and believe), you first "battle" the bike, the track and yourself. Won those, and you're ready to race others on THAT track. All comes with miles, patience and a clear (open) mind. ps I don't own a skirt (not even a kilt) Thank you for that >wrong< mental picture :banana

@spook My $0.02: - Gasless mig, I almost got strung up when I mentioned it at our hobby garage, where some professional welders reside as well. It'll probably work fine doing sheet metal, but with high amp welds it can create bubbles inside your weld. - Disposable bottles work fine on low volume hob...

Tuned in during the last laps of MotoGP and saw the flags half-mast and thought WTF? Then an explanation of the news-reader and a very short interview with Rossi explained everything. It's an occupational hazard, but that doesn't make it suck any less.
Sad day.

Motorcycle accidents are never a good thing. About the license part, here in the Netherlands you can only get a drivers license at the age of 18. And motorcycles >25kw only when you're 23 or been driving motorcycles for at least 3 years. And on motorcycles helmets are mandatory, always. Countr...
