***Spoiler*** Moto2 - bad event

With sadness I must let you all know of the death of popular 19 year old rider Shoya Tomizawa due to a crash in the Moto2 race today. Shoya was racing closely with deAngelis and Redding when he fell in front and was unavoidably struck by both following bikes. He was taken to hospital and was pronoun...

Great to hear you and your family are ok, Kiwi. Looking at the pics on the news, that was a nasty one, good that the authorities have said no deaths etc. Thankfully the bad weather has so far mostly missed the city of Melbourne where Spook and I and Jason are, so I'm sure everyone is fine. My relati...

Looks like that photo is about to kill that particular TL too! An old school protractor (and a weight on a string for vertical) should be able to help you measure the fork angle, if that's any help. Yes the hump in the back straight at Broadford is almost the only time I've ever been able to get my ...

What spook says makes sense. Looks like I might have some free weekends in September, so maybe the track day on 12th and back to Broadford the week after... hmm sounds good. Better dig the old fizzer out of the shed and dust it off, eh.

Thanks for the report, would have been great to watch. Good idea to get some sleep and heal up on the saturday night, sleep is pretty important to me, if I don't get it I ain't worth anything the next day. Sounds like the EXUP is still in development stage, I agree for the last few races where the c...

My sympathies for his loss. It's tough no matter how it happened, but yes some MC-related deaths get chalked up to the MC when maybe that's not always the case. A friend of mine witnessed one, where a rider in his group missed a turn and hit a tree. According to him and the other witnesses, it was a...

Trust you to have a killer trailer. Problem is it won't stay loaded, cause you'll have the bikes out tinkering with them!

That sounds pretty nasty, I've never had any trouble with gall bladder (knock on wood) but I'm still young-ish so plenty of time to get myself in trouble if i don't watch out... :P

Um, if I remember correctly, taking the starter motor out will result in the starter clutch dropping down into the crank case - and a full motor strip to get everything back in the right place again...could be wrong but it does ring some warning bells :? You say "one of your engines" but is it the ...

I reckon you're right, steve, Casey definitely has what it takes but something is holding him back at Ducati. Interesting to see how he goes at Honda.

I know how to fix that problem. Let me guess, bend the lever in a bit? :P Thanks for the report Jason, sounds like you got the speed and the cornering OK, get the starts down pat and you'll be unstoppable! Now who was it in the WSBK that spent a full day practicing nothing but starts recently... ca...

I've seen promises of these arriving in Aus for about 2 years now, I think
the last one was about 6 months ago saying they'll be here in a year
for about AU$900. I wonder if they're actually any good as a helmet,
apart from the rear vision thing.

Thanks for the report - I heard of the tragedy and wish sympathies to all concerned. In situations like these, 'doing something he loved' is little or no consolation. Great to hear you're getting ahead of the competition, I hope it continues and improves more as you get used to the FZR. Gee you real...

Great news, Steve! Good to hear you made it through all those wild and
woolly conditions and nearly a podium too, (whereas I'm sure I'd have
binned it at some point if that was me out there LOL).
