Re: My my my carona

Stan called me and joked that I've been a self isolationist for the last many years in the shed. Life hasn't changed for me very much, I've always got plenty to do, thought I am the sole carer of my 91 year old mum... And it's a job I take very seriously. I'll keep her safe and alive... You can be s...

Re: ZX7RR Build.

That's nice  :D What exhaust does it have? I think it is Kawasaki kit, but will confirm. I'm looking for an Akrapovič full system for the 950. Because it is what is termed as P7 here, the rules are pretty loose. As a 94 750, it competes against 1000cc 2000 year GSXR1000's etc. The bike and...

Re: ZX7RR Build.

It's (was) Jasons ZX7RR M1.

ex-Team Kawasaki Australia

Has a Hallam Bros full kitted engine, mag marchesini's, reworked WP front and rear, FCR's, carbon airbox, Alloy tank etc etc.

It comes with all the bits to build a kitted ZX9r (950) engine as well. Pretty cool!

Re: LSR ZX14R build

Yiches! I get it, but damn! Ha. I'm thinking VR googles or something similar that my visor can press up to. Perhaps one screen... for me R/H looking where I'm going, the other L/H (I know that is obvious..lol.) instruments??? Won't be going for march 2020, there is not enough time or money at this ...

Re: LSR ZX14R build

I'll have a 4" monitor and this dash in what could be described as a bucket, so sun wont have much effect on them. I'm not going to have my head up looking at the track (drag) it is going to be facing down looking at the monitor, and steering it that way.

Re: LSR ZX14R build

Old-school clocks Michael, I would like them too. But with all the moving parts, there isn't or wouldn't be enough room. This ideally is what I would like to use, as it incorporates everything I need to see when doing a run: https://i.imgur.com/kDHdpFZ.jpg But at (au) 5K it isn't going to happen. So...

Re: LSR ZX14R build

These are a nice solid thing. Die-cast aluminium housing, waterproof etc. It will probably find a home on one of my race bikes once I've finished with it here...

Re: LSR ZX14R build

Dash decision has been made. This will interface with the Motec ecu okay, and give the values I will need to ride real time. Not fancy... I don't need dash that does data logging as the Motec will do that, though this one will if you wish to go that way. The important thing is motec will talk to it....

Re: LSR ZX14R build

I downloaded Solid Edge's free S9 2D drafting program, and after stuffing about in the dark for 1/2 a day, I managed to to get to this point. I think I will do a course. This is just blind luck! The proportions look okay? I'll have them cut from 8mm stainless. May as well get 12 cut, it will probabl...

Re: LSR ZX14R build

So with that manifold back on the other page, there is an attempt to even up the pipe lengths for pulse purposes? But it is dual scroll? So my way of thinking is that you don't need to match your scroll lengths lets call them 1 and 2 scroll. the 1-4 pulse is relevant, but separate to the 2-3 pulse. ...

Dunno Kiwi, I'll have to lookup Skunk Works, pretty cool name, and a distinctive smell, trust me on that!

I've edited my post on the other page if you want to have a look. Cheers Mate!

Re: LSR ZX14R build

I will be starting the frame soon, and the turbo headers when I get the manifold flanges cut. (can't find any anywhere at the size I need!). I may need to move the build inside where the world can't see it... What I'm going to do has not been done before, and I sort of want to keep it under-wraps......

Re: LSR ZX14R build

I went to a local supplier to buy some straight 42mm OD pipe to fill the gaps between the curvy bits... Sure enough, the pipe is made in Taiwan. Need to get some flanges laser cut, and wait for the T04 turbo flange to turn up. Then I can crack on with the headers! https://i.imgur.com/mxhX6Mb.jpg

Re: LSR ZX14R build

Progress is painfully slow, because the way I buy parts now is best product for the lowest price A lot of this bike is coming from china... I just couldn't afford the build otherwise. I'm not complaining, nor making excuses, everything purchased so far exceeds my quality expectations. The stainless ...

Re: LSR ZX14R build

Probably more into the Aero, it'll cost me my right nut, and I'll have a bonus new, higher pitched voice as well... :lolno: These days wind tunnel time is less important, solid edge for example has a 3D fluid dynamics component that allows you to model the best shape body work with the lowest drag c...
