I really liked the look of the SV1000S however they've completely discontinued it globally. Nup, still got them on the shop floor here in NZ as an '08 model, but they are on the way out. I don't think there will be any issues with spare etc as the Suzuki 1000 V twin started way back with the TL1000...

Dear Torn & Confused, Nothing wrong with modern technology on motorcycles - I love riding (and currently modifying) my SV1000S. It was a total revelation in power and handling when I bought it, and it still stretches the arms when I open it up. The GSXR 750's are brilliant bikes and are often rated ...

Gidday, Ah - don't you just love insurance companies - I do!!!!! They have written the SV off (over $6000.00 damage from a low speed collision) so I have bought it back from them, and with the payout I now have parts for it on the way from just about every corner of the globe, man this is fun!! PLUS...

Gidday, Yep, none since way back when. I've been really lucky as all up my 'get offs' have been low speeds (three times because of diesel on the road) and until I got the SV, I was making do with old bikes and wasn't too concerned about patching them up with a spray can etc. But not this time, I bou...

Not the best Easter I've had
Gidday, Was heading up the road to grab a bite of lunch when a 4x4 pulled out on me while going through a round about, result over $3000 damage to the SV, bugger, but not a scratch on me :banana Damage includes: both mufflers, LH footpeg and mounting, front fairing, tank, handle bars and levers, mir...

New WSB round
Gidday, It was announce this week that New Zealand will be hosting WSB from 2010 at the new Hampton Downs track - just 45 minutes from where I live!!!! Happy - YOU BET!!!!!!!!! But wait - there's more... There is a possibility that the NZ Post Classic Racing Association could be asked to provide sup...

Gidday, I've been using Pilot Powers on the SV for a couple of years now, generally I've found them to be great tyres - wet or dry. Currently I have a dual compound PP on the back that is pretty much fonged with 5000km on it, but this is probably to be expected with the soft compound on the edges. I...

Back tyre slidding...
Gidday, Over the past 20 months I have been racing my FZR750, and as I have a 18 inch rear rim; the choice of tyres is a little limited. I have a Bridgestone BT014 on the back which is a great tyre, but always started to slide around a bit coming out of the slow corners towards the end of a race. No...

Gidday I fully agree with your reasoning - one bike to do everything, funny thing is - when I was young (along time ago) in the 70's, I tend to recall that one bike could actually do everything!!!! I have great memories of my Suzuki T500 - indestructible engine, long wheel base resulting in stable h...

Gidday, Ah, that's the beauty of a forum, we all have the opportunity to express our own opinions. There are a lot of comments I could put to your post, but I think the only thing they would achieve would be a slanging match that has little to do with the joy of riding our bikes. I've made my point ...

Gidday, I'm all for the sharing of information, but I suspect that these PDF's may violate copyright laws as these books are available in the public sector. I am prepared to be wrong on this account, but I think it's no different to downloading music and not paying for it. The reason I bring this up...

NZ Post Classic Racing Web Site
Gidday, Just thought I'd let you all know about the NZ Post Classic Racing web site that I am in the process of building: www.nzpostclassics.org.nz The pre'89 class is growing at a rapid rate, and one of the NZ magazines is going to buy a bike and write a series of articles on how to go racing, star...
