*Bump!* I have one of these, and though I haven't fitted it yet it looks great. Really must fit it soon and tune the carbs to suit, so I can go track this summer. In fact I'd go fit it now, only the fZ1 is up on blocks with wheels out, 2 punctures in the rear and 1 in the front, so I have no room to...

I particularly remember being surprised that exup1k and yzf750 have exactly the same cases down to identical part numbers. From memory the ace cases are compatible but not identical, there's something to do with the oil pump that is a bit different/updated.

One day that info is going to save someone's project.
4.5mm out, that's enough to make premature chain wear, noise
vibration etc isn't it?

I know the EXUP blocks and sleeves are fine for 1040, highly recommended to
resleeve for 1070 although there are people on this forum who say they have
got away without it. As for Genesis I couldn't say.

I'm fairly certain the blocks have the same cylinder center to center spacing Hmm, dunno then. Maybe I'm thinking of carb spacing, but it'd be worth checking before purchase. I know the genesis is narrower in some aspects of the engine, but I've never owned one so it's hard to be certain which and ...

I'm 99% certain that the cylinder spacing is bigger on the EXUP series blocks. The Genesis blocks get up to 1029 and I think that's the max, whereas the EXUP blocks have enough room and sleeve thickness to get bored up to 1040 without new sleeves, and the block can be bored to accept bigger sleeves,...

Ow that damage looks awful. Much sympathy to ya, and hopefully
the bottom end, oil pump etc are all fine (a good chance).

Oh no, tragic! :hissy At least you have lots of parts lined up ready to go, if you hadn't it would be even more heartbreaking. Still noone likes that to happen. The 1040 pistons have valve pockets milled deeper to account for high lift cams and bumped compression, when you check you might find that ...

Nice. Can it weld steel as well? How is it with thin sheet/thin tube? I guess you need a gas can with it (argon or nitrogen or something?) I was toying with the idea of an arc welder for general home and bike use, but I would like the ability to weld aluminium as well. Recommendations for an occasio...
