Re: Front Fork Alternatives
If it's a rear shock you need, look no further. I am releasing another HUGE end of year clearance of all my FZR goodies including a perfectly working Ohlins unit that has been revalved for aggressive riding on a 89-95 FZR 1000 and all bushings replaced. There are going to be a long list so look for ...

Re: Front Wheel Interchangeable?????
I don't believ so, but can't confirm. The 87-93 wheels are all the same, just use different bearings in the 91-93. In the 94 FZR1000, they switched to the same rim as the YZF 750 to keeep costs down, 1 mold, 1 rim. The R1 and R6 family is totally different. I've been told that the YZF 600 front rim ...

Re: clutch no workie
Could be old dirty fluid, did you do a complete fluid cleaning, all the way through. If not also consider stainless clutch line. Stock rubber lines go after a while, so if all elso fails, try there. They're only $15.00!!.
CHUCK D.

Re: exup valve problem
89 was 1st year used. Yamaha got the idea after power reed valves helped 2 stroke tunning. This gives the FZR 1000 the smooth linear power delivery that NONE of the bikes of the era could replicate. The system even saw italian usage in the bimota family. Yamaha used it on a few FZR 400 and 600's too...

Re: Mirror Replacement
I must have suggested this mod in 98, 99, 00, 01, 02, ... you get the point. I'm glad to see that more guys have switched, it's a great cheap upgrade. Be careful though, all aftermarket mirrors eventually loosen up. I took the screw out and put some teflon tape, never any more problems. These mirrio...
Re: brake squeal
Cintered for the front, kev for the back. I would never recomend the kevs is the front, they take to long to get good temp, and then they don't have anywhere the initial grab comparred to sintered metallic. I like Galfer, Ferodo and EBC's just fine, but it all depends on your choice and availability...

Re: Friction plate question!
Use the 94 clutch pack. If you try to order any part #, they will automatically be supercedded. The wavy washer should get ditched and there anre only three different part #'s to order. Look at the pack on a 94 and this is the way you wnat to set it up. Stock plates and steel work the best. MAKE SHU...

Re: FZR 1000 '88 bike in workshop. Need help fast!!!
Sonds a bit true, but it could also be caused by fuel level getting messed with when they cleaned them. If the tangs on the floats were bent, it would cause problems similar effects. Also, was fuel filter changed, sometimes it's easy to put it on backwards, and I would check stock jets sizes @ <!--E...

Re: wheel alignment
OH man, that's not good! These things are pretty spendy. I don't know about straightening. Usually this process scratches or chips the chrome fininsh on teh leg, thusby blowing seals like a mad man. I feel for you, I got 2 new ones @ $255.00 EACH!!!!! and never even installed them. 91-93 though so i...

Re: forgot one thing
Don't forget clutch cancel switch and IGN is prone to go south, sound familiar Corey? The one time I took corey's bike on a long trip, it shat out the wires leading into the harness and shorted out a few others. What a pain that day was, but nevertheless, thank you Corey.
CHUCK D.

Re: remove tires
For the price of a DYNOJET, Or Factory kit, I can help, I think. Since all you need is the needles and maybe springs, I can sell a new Factory kit for $67.50 (normal retail- $109.76)and shipping would be around $15.00 at most for such light weight. If this is cheaper than where you are at, then it m...

87-95 FZR1000, 94-97YZF750 all use the same 320mm rotors. 87-88 fit newer, but it's best to find the ones from 89+. Are you in europe?
CHUCK D.

Re: 1 & 2 appear fine
Check Daiphrams for damage as well. You got a junked up fuel system. No big deal, just requires some patience, carb cleaner, black bucket, and possibly new float bowl gaskets, they're cheap if you know where to get them. You may also have to reaset float height and sync carbs after cleaning to ensur...

Check out the "getting her ready for spring" thread in the 89-95 FZR 1000 section. Pretty good labor #'s and most asked questions. I do a few of these a year and run into all the walls and openings over and over again.
CHCUK D.
