Re: Latest Buell
Yes, Erik Buell probably was ham strung by HD, but he did have complete freedom of design in the years prior to joining HD, and the best he could come up with then was still a HD Sporster engined bike (RS1200). That was when he was already broke from creating a square four 750 race bike (certainly ...

Re: Latest Buell
He was also a very wealthy architect with Money (and a house many would be seriously jealous of) Mr Bell left HD 'S engineering dept, built a purpose built square four race bike, only to have the race class disappear and financially ruin him, he's done what he has by crawling back to HD and signing ...

Re: Moto GP 2012
Spies could be fun to watch on a bike with enough power to make him smile, he's still at a disadvantage compared to the jockeys, but outright cornerspeed may not rule completely with the added power. Oh to bring back McCoys style.

Re: Latest Buell
I'm not saying that the new Buell is similar to to the Britten, however my mind keeps wondering what Buell might have been capable of producing if his resources were similar to what Britten had available to him. By the time Erik had corporate backing in strength, it was with an anachronistic corpora...

Re: Latest Buell
The great thing about beauty is it's all in the eye of the beer holder, personal taste and differences make the world go round. I think the equivalent V1000 in pink and blue was butt-F#$CKING-ugly, but the engineering it held was a wonder to behold. And as far as it being a Harley sportbike, maybe t...

Re: Latest Buell
And the Desmosedici (outgunned by the next Gen street bike) was a deal? Only 400 handmade examples, means 40k seems similar to the R7 mentioned elsewhere here, but this one Is race ready. Actually higher spec than the race rules allow, so you have to replace some carbon bits with alum first.

Re: Latest Buell
It kinda looks that way, but all that height/air box weighs nothing, and if you look at how far back the tranny is, you'll also notice the rear cylinder under the seat. As much as Honda likes their "mass centralization" mantra, Erik had them beat by decades. The beauty I see is the purpose of the en...

Here's a test ride from last May. http://www.cycleworld.com/2011/05/25/erik-buell-racing-1190rs-exclusive-first-ride/ Intro and some details from a year ago feb. http://www.cycleworld.com/2011/02/17/erik-buell-racing-ebr-1190rs-first-look/ The coolest (and not discussed in these articles) is the nea...

Re: Latest Buell
What are talkin' 'bout, I haven't read anything in CC about any sort of new Buell project. Please don't be playin' with me now Spook. If ever HD has ever made a tremedously HUGE mistake, letting Buell away from it's dealerships was it, bunch of friggen morons. Looks an awful lot like the second ite...

Re: New Rear Sets for our FZR's
Never owned any 750, just got my two Aces, one track one street, Dave's sold last fall. It's a 750 front race glass and swingarm, but that shouldn't have fooled you!

Re: New Rear Sets for our FZR's
Hmm Lean=Risk. Looks like moving your body over will get you less lean for the same corner speed, or same lean with more corner speed. There's a reason this guy is waaaay faster than me, and it's not because he's on a Honda, it's cuz he weighs 1/2 what I do, no wait, there's a difference in talent t...

Re: New Rear Sets for our FZR's
You don't race your ace though Jon, so I'd think you'd just need a set for you 750 yeah, or no? I don't? Hmm, d'you know something I don't? Like what 750 are you talking about? The Ace pegs and 750 pegs are not compatible, and I've removed my rearset adaptors as they were too drastic and I couldn't...

Re: New Rear Sets for our FZR's
Nice looking units, decent price. Well worth the extra tenner for the folding option IMO, but alas, as usual, nothing for the Ace.

This summer my little guy will be starting on the back, he's already used to the Buddy Belt (harness) a bit and can finally reach the pegs, now for some proper gear. Gloves included.

Thanks for the upgrade Hooli. Can you please adjust the Login time back to 60 minutes instead of whatever the default with this new version is? Thanks. I think it's us. Mine's off an hour too, if we change to gmt -7? we might be fine, we call it mountain standard. Yup, that worked. It's in your per...
