No its not sex but from what I remember just as much fun.
I have an interest in offroad buggies. Mine is only small (the buggy) and weighs less than 300kg but is powered by an old XT600 engine. It has the same power as my FZR250 but the delivery is somewhat different.
It was a nice day today so while we were out my son took some video.
Anyway I have posted a condensed video on my web page if anyone is interested. The bits where I spun out etc, are not shown and have been strategicly lost.

There are other vids on my webpage and construction photos etc, the link is at the bottom of the page.

Bikes and buggies
Dave,
You could combine your love for motorcycles and dune buggies (sandrails) into one ... Hayabusa sandrail (intercooled turbo too + you can even add Nitrous)

Don, Some of these sand rails are very impressive. The turbo Hyabusa seems to popular. The idea of building a more powerfull buggy crossed my mind to the point where I bought a crashed H*NDA Fireblade for the engine but the practicality of using it locally is zero. There are no sand dunes that I can use within 3 hours drive so.
The terrain around here is similar to what you see in the video and the only place I can go easily is in the bush fire trails. and it suits the smaller size buggy.
The current engine is good but kick start makes it a pain in the rear end if I happen to stall. Somethiing with a bit more power than 45hp would be good but it would have to be light and narrow as the engine sits beside me on the right hand side. A V twin might be the best option.
There is a local who has an open wheel race car running a R1 motor and I have a little video of him on a hillclimb event. It also weighs about 350Kg (770kg) which is pretty light. He is the current record holder against all other vehicles.

EDIT: when I click on this link I get garbage on the screen, it might be my browser (netscape) but if that happens to anyone else just right click on the link and save the file to your hard drive and view it when it finishes downloading.

The XR is my elder son's. It's a 2000 XR400 with an aftermarket flatslide pumper carb and an aftermarket pipe. It was then dyno tuned for that setup and I think it was about 28hp? at the back wheel. Does not seem a lot for a 400cc engine
It was registered for road use when my younger son took it for a not so sedate ride down the street and back (about 500m each way) and I was inside the house and could hear it quite clearly all the way down and back.
So it is rather loud.

I used to have a 2000 XR400 until someone decided they needed it more than me I jetted the stock carb, FMF pipe and foam filter worked pretty good but still had that bog off idle, SRC fork brace a sweet bash plate and a set of Renthal bars. Those bikes are pretty gutless for power but are virtually bulletproof and are made for tight woods.

Sounds like you enjoyed your XR - They have a big following but are no longer competitive in the race scene with the CRF450s etc
I think the other carb my son fitted fixed the bogging down prob on that throttle as well as giving more power.
Seems a shame that the are discontinuing the XR series - they were a simple and reliable bike, especially being air cooled.
I have posted another edited version of that vid, just a couple of extra clips and one or two different views. It's 15mb download though.
