That looks like a sweet road for our rockets, but trying to navigate them at higher than posted limits on a full bagged harley would be like trying to squeeze a pregnant sow through a doggy door (ya know, the one on ur back porch)...
Just goes to show the mentality of weekend bikers that have too much money (you know the type, they got the money to purchase a bike but no riding smarts)...
Of course, you know he probably went back to the office monday and tryied to play it off like some jerk in a car forced him off the road...

These Harley guys love their rear brakes, don't they?
Unfortunately thats the way alot of riders are trained. They think the front brake will flip them over the bars if they try to use it in an emergency.

Truth be known (which you all are probably aware of), if they front brake is mashed hard at highway speed, you wont flip, you will stop in a hurry though...
Anyways, drinking, fri night, woman is out doing her own thing (like i care anyways) so here I am, expect a couple more dumbass posts from me tonight...

clear cut case of panic braking, and rider fixation...i'm still not understanding why the guy just rode straight into the ditch (besides having the rear brake locked up)...it appeared that if he would of just let aff the throttle, he had plenty of room to correct his predicament...but i guess i could be wrong...that kinda looked like Deals Gap... ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif)

She said, "It's just a bike...It can be replaced...", and I said, "Good, now you and my bike have something in common...".

yah...I hardly use my rear brake on the track, riding dirt, or on the street....I know some people like it dirt riding, but I'm so used to not using it at the track, that I just get by w/ the front only, maybe in an emergency I'll get on the rear on the dirt, but not usually, the front stops us so quick on our bikes...
Can anyone give me advice on how to create a sig? I can't for the life of me figure out how to do one.

harleys never had fron brake for the first 30 years of there manufacture so you gotto think why would a harley user need em anyway
as for on the road i go through more rear pads than front as i have a tendance to settle the bike and myself( its a confidence thing) before any corner
that and the incident wit the cold front tyre and the 70 mph dismount infront of the girl friend (served me right it did) but i aint uber front end confident
horses for course but i cant get that on a track you dont use yer rear, your clearly loosing time there int he braking zones, but if its for fun it doesnt really matter but still (my tupence)

may the force not see you
I touch the rear brake, prior to using the front brake, to pull down the suspension and settle the bike. Having the suspension pulled down prior to using the front brake causes less front fork travel when applying the front brake. I notice a difference on level ground and a big difference when braking down-hill. Going uphill I don't need the rear brake to settle the suspension; just rolling off the throttle does the trick.naeone wrote: i have a tendance to settle the bike
