Our kids are already traumatized.

I suggest you bring your earplugs. It gets pretty loud. I wouldn't want you to lose any sleep!

Works great for unwanted house guests too.

:funny If I can swing it I'm going to try and buy a trailer this summer so I can bring the Bandit and FZR down. Doesn't help that I just got my bill for my physics class I'm taking this summer. With lab fees and all that fun crap it's just over a grand for that one stinking class.

***UPDATE 5/7/08***

Finally talked with the rep today. Nothing much to update, but here's what I got:

Pit Passes - not a peep on those. Apparently the pit passes are more in the hands of the powers that be of GP rather than the crew at Indy. Passes will most be likely be available about 1-2 months prior to the race.

It isn't 100% confirmed, but close enough, to say that the Thursday prior to race weekend will be the day that they offer the lap around the track for the groups. I doubt that any of us are going to be able to take part in that, but not a huge deal.

A note on parking - if you are in the group you will get the V.I.P. parking for your motorcycle ONLY. This will not apply to cars. Parking for the weekend is $40 for a car. Since some of you are doing family trips I'll need to know who needs parking permits as well.

I had talked with Tim on going about doing a PayPal account like we did for the Laguna GP a few years back. I am unable to confirm the PayPal account since you cannot link a single bank account to two separate PayPal accounts. Tim said this didn't cause any issues so hopefully everybody is ok with this. Payments can be sent to Please PM me for further information

Payments must be made by 7/10/08. That is the due date on the invoice. Once I send in the payment the tickets will get mailed out to me, then in turn I will mail them to all the members attending the race. Again, tickets cost $75 and weekend parking permits are $40.

When making a payment please send me a PM letting me know to help keep things organized (I'll add a "paid" list to the first post on this thread). Also, please include your screen name in the notes section when sending a payment, along with what you are buying - number of tickets, permits, etc. I'm sure many of you would like to be able to make one payment that included the pit passes so it's no problem to wait until July. I wanted to get the account set up early so that if needed people can start making payments towards their costs ahead of time. I have no problems with anyone wanting to send in $20 a week until they're paid in full.

That's great.

FYI--on pit passes, when I booked my room through Expedia they were offering pit passes at $122 each--youch.

I passed for now--that's pretty expensive.

Hate to say it, but looks like that Hyatt is now booked solid for Saturday night. Rooms are still available at other hotels, though. Did anybody else get a room booked there other than me, Tim & Jim?

I did get in n teh Hyatt. Unlike a lot of hotel reservations, I got charged the whole bill up front--little annoying. Most just take your card number.

Do who to what now???

There's a guy in my physics class that is going to the GP also with a huge group of people. He said they bought a huge block of rooms but I have no idea for which hotel or where. I'm going to get his phone & email to keep in touch with him. Told him that I may know some people that need rooms if they can't get enough people to go.

Friendly reminder kiddies.....money for tickets is due in a little over a month from now.

I'm still workin' on it ! Karen found a hotel for $50/night that's about 25 miles out. The only things dogging me are gas and medical expenses. Karen slipped and fell on our (wet) deck and severely damaged her left hand and arm in the process. The bills are incredible. We're looking at $200 a week just for therapy plus the emergency room, MRI and bone scans. Add to all that the YZF being offline and the gas to drive my Explorer into work everyday is more than I made in a week at many jobs. :hissy

Hey, can we bring a friend or three in on the deal ? I know several motorcyclists here in Dell that might like to join the crowd.
