The Return
Hey guys, Im back! some may know me as WickedFZR1K but that account is dead, cant get a new password, dont own the FZR anymore, moved, flooded out, new bike, etc, etc, etc...
Anyways, for those that do not know me, I am Matt. Today I bought another Yamaha, a 2001 R1 that was a deal so I couldnt pass it up. It has the Hong Kong R1 body set plastics on it from ebay, doesnt look bad, but the yellow is off from the tank, but I dont care.
I will post pics soon as I have a chance to give it a good cleaning...

LMAO!!! I never said stunting was safe, but most of us do it. I found out something fairly disturbing on my 100 mile journey today. THIS THING WILL WHEELIE FROM INTERSTATE SPEED!!!!! Fun fun, scares the shit out of cage drivers though.RUFtech wrote:What you speed? OMG, and I guess you think stunting is safe.

Anyways, as promised, I washed her up this morning before my ride and polished up the frame sides, here she is...
I know its not an actual 50th anniversary bike, but thats what the previous owner replaced the stockers with. I kinda like it and alot of people dont know the difference. I think I might get the tank repainted to match and paint the rear hugger black...
I have a plate mount that is more legal on the way so the tag can be read by the po po if they want to and I also got some spools on the way. I have a swingarm stand, but the damn thing slipped off the stand while I was washing it, luckily I caught it and it didnt hit the ground...
I need to figure out this damn integrator they put on the tail lights though. There is no marking on the box, just all black, wires in wires out. It works but the brake is real faint and flashes. If you have a turn signal on, one side flashes and the other light is bright, I want them both bright with no signals on, for safety reasons, I dont want to have a car bumper up my ass...
Gasoline is for washing parts, alcohol is for drinking, nitromethane is for racing!

I hadnt figured that out by your avatar. LMAO! I like it too, if others call me a faker, well, I have an excuse, I didnt put the plastics on the bike, right?
I did a little wiring tonight. The brakes lights werent very bright unless one of the signals was on due to an integrater that IMO is junk. I have a license plate bracket ordered that has signals on it, should be here end of this following week. I found some nifty front signals too that are supposed to snap into the fairing inplace of the front signals (also missing currently)...
Has anyone used a "speedo healer"? My sp[eedo is terribly off due to regearing. The bike is 1 down (i think) in the front and 2 up (i know that for sure cause its a 45 sprocket, stock is 43) in the rear...
I did find out today this thing can be tame as a puddy tat (tweety impression) or mean as a lion. I am a fan of "clutch up" wheelies, and of course, I tried them in 2nd and 3rd gear. Found out at 90 on the speedo from 3rd, she will stand up and do the old "One wheel shuffle" down the road...
I am SOOOOOOOOOOO glad he finally decided to sell me the bike, I have been on him for about a year to do so. And I realized how much i miss a litre bike. Yeah, the CBR600F3 I bought after the flood is a fun bike, but she aint got the torque to move out when you pass, unless you drop down to 3rd gear. Litre bike? Well, as we all know, "why downshift, just roll her on"...
