Ever wondered how long it takes to make a brake disk?

Got something you want to say but don't know where else to say it? This is the spot to post it!

It's a mountain bike disk rotor, so only about 20-25$

Cheap as chips!

The metal there is thin, very thin, nothing compared to a motorbike disk.
If you're going to take a shot at me let me know so I can duck...!

Never been close enough to one of those nasty bikes to get a look at one, and don't intend to :poke

I sell that Bystronic brand of laser, and believe me, that's not too far off the pace for material up to 6mm thick, all they do is use a more powerful laser generator to maintain the same cutting efficiency and speed.

I think it's still cool to watch. We use water jet cutters at work and they are amazing to watch cut though some pretty thick stuff.

That didn't come across right.
I meant to say it was a MTB disk and not as thick as a motorbike disk but that it was still really cool to see done; I'd never seen that before and couldn't believe how quick they go.

Come on Yoni, we know your the trail Maestro... :) Not the sort of machine you would want to fall to sleep at operating? Especially if there was room for your head in there. Wonder if you have to reach into it to pick out the part or whether it auto flicks them at you like a wife throwing hot plates?

They possibly are at the factory, but in aftermarket dics that seems to be the process for car dics now.

That's Fricken UNREAL,

True when you ask, and we pay how much for discs? But, you forget to ask how much it cost the manufacturer to buy that fancy laser cutter as well as all the other industrial machinery, that's what we are paying for, not to mention to high paid operator.

Still, not that I think Profit is a dirty word but I do think the other dudes in the equation could stand to make less profit in order for the dudes at the buying end to not get so bent over.

Yes Yes I know, I said, I'm building a project YZF1070

Basement is done now, 850 finished and gone...
Gotta get the new siding up on the house.
Fixing the FZ1 up, cleaning up garage and then I might even begin

Yeah, I figured as much, just tryin' to keep everyone Honest, at least on our end of the equation cause we know there's nothing to do with Honesty on the other end.
