Re: ZX7RR Build.
I'll get moving on this lol. They will be words of joy to Jason's ears, but the truth is we are close to engine assembly. I'm still working on the rods, but not far away. Once that job is done, it is just assembly.
The delimer regarding the oil pump-alternator drive could not be resolved without the proper works kit. So I have turned the alternator drive into what is essentially now an idler gear, and we will actually end up with better oil pump flow, and I think less drivetrain friction loss due to less acute chain angles.
I'll sort out the lost photo's and we will get moving on this! Cheers.

Re: ZX7RR Build.
Con-rods have been resized, each available bearing size was purchased and plasti-gauged. We have settled on a size, and ordered bearings for the remaining 3 rods. Unfortunately they don't have stock locally, so they are on their way from Japan.
I've updated the photo's FB deleted, and will have some updates on this build in the next few days. Cheers.

If Aussie is anything like here they will arrive faster and cost less than if you bought localUnfortunately they don't have stock locally, so they are on their way from Japan.

Re: ZX7RR Build.
Jason is getting them through the dealer, so there will no difference in price.
The Kwaka parts on the other hand are about 1/2 the price of Yamaha, for the same sort of item... go figure?

Re: ZX7RR Build.
It's (was) Jasons ZX7RR M1.
ex-Team Kawasaki Australia
Has a Hallam Bros full kitted engine, mag marchesini's, reworked WP front and rear, FCR's, carbon airbox, Alloy tank etc etc.
It comes with all the bits to build a kitted ZX9r (950) engine as well. Pretty cool!

Re: ZX7RR Build.
I think it is Kawasaki kit, but will confirm. I'm looking for an Akrapovič full system for the 950.
Because it is what is termed as P7 here, the rules are pretty loose. As a 94 750, it competes against 1000cc 2000 year GSXR1000's etc.
The bike and all it's 750 providence will be retained, restored and stored. It will be fitted with a kitted 955 motor, and it will be interesting to see how it goes.

Re: ZX7RR Build.
Speaking of Team Kawasaki Australia... I've added another ex-TKA bike to the pile.
This one is Josh Waters 2005 ZX600N. it's a ZX-6RR, and is like the ZXR750RR M1, this is also a homologation special.
Probably only 20 came into the country, and this one is the factory bike.
It came 4th in the 2005 Australian super-sport category.
For some reason all my photos are munted when I resize them? Anyway you get the idea?
They are a nice looking thing!

Re: ZX7RR Build.
When I was looking for the FZR, it was either that or a ZX-9
I don't see any photos of an M1 Ralph?

Yes Yes I know, I said, I'm building a project YZF1070
Basement is done now, 850 finished and gone...
Gotta get the new siding up on the house.
Fixing the FZ1 up, cleaning up garage and then I might even begin

Re: ZX7RR Build.
Hi Michael, I haven't revisited this post. i know M1 makes you think of a Yamaha GP bike!
I'm actually referring to the Kawasaki homologation special for super bike racing.
It was designated 1993-1994 ZX7-RR (M1)

There is a photo of it up the page with the number 3 on it. Cheers.

Re: ZX7RR Build.
Thanks for the history, now, where is the purple headed TLS, TLR hybrid???? Of course, I am one to talk. Finally got the garage back to a state where I can pull a wrench so I'll see pretty soon if the FZ1 isn't starting cause it's skipped a tooth or two. Been 4 or 5 years now since I've ridden last, and I am DYING!!!!
