Good news or the bad? I'll give you both Seat section is ready for top paint, it's taken some time. I hand sanded off all of that brown 2k primer basically because I wan't happy with the adhesion. I've knocked up a custom tail light thingo that is part of the seat unit, led flush indicators have arrived, and I've made a custom led tail light to suit the tail piece.
I was taking the tank off to get to ready for paint, and a really stubborn fuel line release had me cursing. It finally released but I wasn't holding the tank and it fell to the floor... so I'm not telling you about the fu**ing huge dint right on the front dimple. I'm cranky... with myself.
Anyway, some photo's to follow... not of the dint

It has healed The dint (was on the top ridge of the handle bar dimple) had to be knocked back into the tank, it has been taken back to bare metal, filled with a loctite epoxy aluminium putty, then finished with a home-made concoction of epoxy resin filled with talcum powder. It's all good now, I wished I had taken a photo of the damage, but honestly couldn't bring myself to do it So a day wasted, but out of the shit...
Plan is to get seat and tank painted, seat upholstered, wiring etc, alarm fitted, and all fitted up, so the core will be finished... then it is just the upper fairing to be made, and headlight etc. fitted up.. etc. etc..
While it is dragging on, getting closer... lol.

Ha... will do! Something interesting for a change. I mentioned I made a custom light for the seat unit, I'm wanting to keep everything flush an unobtrusive, to maintain a race bike look. I went down to Jacar and picked up led stop tail light bulb (about 25mm in diam.) and set it into resin, the one with the red dye in it is the one I'm going to use. This fits into a corresponding tapered tube in the seat, and sits perfectly flush with the body work, so when it's off you hardly notice it.
Prototypes and the finished light
It works!
Where it fits
It's really quite bright especially with the brakes on as well.
The last shot is the seat in base coat. I'm still in two minds about the colour, but hey... I'll know it's mine

I got a bit of paint work done over Easter... This the third base coat mix, and I'm finally pretty happy with the color and finish. The tank and seat are just sitting on the bike to get an idea of how it looks. Won't be long before it is bolted up and finalised. Main fairings now need to be made, so I better go and wax some moulds
