heat loss / load calc
It appears to be hard to find a good program out there for calculating load and heat loss on a heat system.
Look for one on slantfin.com
Its called Hyrdronic Explorer and its easy to use and feature filled (imho)
oh and it is indeed free
they also include links to their products etc of course and pdf's

My question is - why does the calculator not make any sense compared to real world radiant baseboard heat that I have seen installed in my lifetime ?
Every radiant baseboard installation I have seen has gone way over design spec according to the calculator.
For instance, my existing house has radiant baseboard heat cover every inch of exposed wall.
But the calc gives far less requirements when dealing with radiant baseboard at 580 btu's per foot and 180 degree water temp. And from what I've seen most baseboard is right around that same 580-605 btu/foot range.

You want an "ejector pump" and tank. Do a google search. The tank collects waste and the ejector pump will pump it up to your house line. More typically they are used in basesments when the basement plumbing fixtures are too high to get good flow to the sewer lines under the street.
Install it yourself with PVC but find out what you need to do and get your permits and inspections. You don't want it to back up or leak and you don't want to have to dig it up and redo it if the county catches on later.
