I just used a razor knife, a file and some sand paper. On the cracks where the fairing did not come apart, I took the knife corner and scratched a small groove on the crack. Basically I was trying to get some of the cement into the crack. When I had two seprate pieces I used the file or some sand paper to rough up the edges and make sure the cement was bonding black plastic to black plastic. You will also need a clamp or two to hold the pieces while they dry. I would recommend practicing on a scrap if you have one. It will help you see how it works.
