New toy, not a yamaha
I bought a new toy, not a Yamaha.
It'll allow me to use my FZR for dedicated sports and racetrack
stuff and the rare saturday fast blast to work, instead of every
day slogging to and from work in the traffic wearing out my
tyres. Also the girlfriend can get on the back.
So now I can enjoy a single-seat FZR with super sticky tyres and
low racy handlebars,
but also commute comfortably and take the girlfriend on tour.
No more wondering about "should I bolt on the pillion pegs" "should
I put streetfighter handlebars on" "should I get Sport/Track tyres
or Sport/Touring tyres".
For those who want to know, it's a 1997 Kawasaki GTR 1000
(aka Kawasaki Concours). I've had two previously, so I know a few
tricks to liven it up...

I liked the old ones too but knowing what the new ones are, I'd wait a year or two or three, to snag one once they finally fell below 10K.
Nice ride btw Cam

Yes Yes I know, I said, I'm building a project YZF1070
Basement is done now, 850 finished and gone...
Gotta get the new siding up on the house.
Fixing the FZ1 up, cleaning up garage and then I might even begin

Thanks all.
Yes I have rode one of the new 1400 ones for an overnighter, they are
killer awesome, but even used ones are still WAAAY out of my
price range (ie about 5 times what I paid for this), so in several
years when I can afford the 1400, I'll possibly sell this to upgrade.

Well since I've had 3 of them, and learned to look after the first oneI'm sure the 1400's running costs are way higher too
with the help of COG (owners group) all my servicing is done at
home for free (plus oil and spark plugs). Tyres are cheaper for
these old gals too. Hoping to find some cheap used hotup parts
on fleabay too...
