Christmas 2018

Post by kiwi60 »

So what's everyone up to for the festive season this year?

Our business is absolutely flat out with the lead up to Christmas day so we'll only be closing for the 25th and 26th as this is the time of year that we actually make money as opposed to just paying bills & overheads. We've got great staff so it's all good but as far as a bit of a break it'll be a week down country mid / late January to catch up with family and then a few weeks away later in the year. I guess I'll get the odd day away for a ride or three so that'll have to keep me sane for now.

Right - your turn...

I'll be working in the SNOW on Christmas Day again this year. Might have a friend that will take my shift, but have to see what the boss says. I'll take a week off in late Feb to ski with my brother when he comes up for a visit. Being that it is winter here in the great white north, no riding in my future.

Bit of a bummer working on Christmas Day but we need people like you to keep the world turning.
It’s the first month of summer down here so Lyle (Duke22) often joins Lesley and I for a day or so, and we set the food on the table, make sure there’s beer & wine in the fridge and just graze and make good use of the deck, look at the view and consider the world as we know it ;)

I'll be looking after Mum, not a happy time, Dad died on Monday. He was 96, so a good innings, doesn't make it any easier though, especially for Mum... 66 years of being happily married.

All the best to all my forum buddies, for Christmas and the New Year, Cheers!

So sorry to hear that mate, yes he had a good innings but it doesn’t make it any easier. Thinking of you and your Mum.

Ralph, So sorry to hear of your fathers passing. Will keep you and your mother in my thoughts over the coming days. Let your Mum know that many of us are doing the same.

Sorry to hear about your Dad Ralph. God speed, and good thoughts to your family.

On the opposite side of the planet we have snow here in NY, and it’s been uncharacteristicly cold. We’ll be cuddled up to the fireplace watching the kids open presents.

Merry Christmas!

Sorry to hear about that Ralph, hope you're holiday season isn't terribly affected by the loss of Dad.
