Great sites vs not so great sites

Post by billruiz »

Good Monday everyone!!!

I just had an experience over the weekend that makes me appreciate the EXUP Brotherhood. I was a member of one of the 250 Ninja forums, but the site is run by a self-important moderator who loves to abuse the newbies. I actually knew of the mod when we were on the VFR forums. He was a pretty nice guy back then, but now he's a jerk. So, due to my penchant for supporting the underdogs (newbies), I got banned Now that site does have a few very knowledgeable, friendly guys who will bend over backwards to help, but it's run by a dictator......
Now when I visit the Brotherhood, it's like, "Ahhhhhh.....now THIS is a GREAT site......I suggested he look at this site to see how non-combative it is, but got the, "You have been banned from this forum. Please contact a moderator for further instruction." ALL HAIL THE BROTHERHOOD!!!
On another great note, while looking thru some boxes, I found some of my EXUP Brotherhood T-shirts from WAY back. It's a sign I tell ya....

You're right Bill....It's one of the things I value very highly here.
We were all newbs at one time and if we wern't taken under the wing of someone that knew what the heck he was doing we'd not be here now...
It dosn't matter if it's racing, riding on the street of fixing your bike. We all started as newbs

Jim <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... Thank you Bill,

We try to make the Brotherhood what it is. Also take into consideration, the bikes that are popular here on the Brotherhood are 15-20 years old and the folks riding them are twice that. Where as on other sites the age of the bike is equal to the IQ of most of the riders.
<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ...
There are some who call me........Tim?
Top Speed = Mach 0.197 or so...
1994 FZR 1000 <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ...

Whats even more hilarious is I used to be a mod there.

Now my main "home" is cycleforums. Every forum I'm on has its own personality. Some more laid back than others, some really goofy.
Rob
