Greetings and WELCOME to the EXUP Brotherhood

This is a list of Tips and Tricks, Do's and Do Not's, and maybe a few Hints as well.

#1. Read - I do not expect everyone to do it, but I have read every post on this forum. I do recommend at least reading every topic that is listed for your particular bike. Cruise through the General Discussion and Tech Tips for good measure. Definitely check out the Sticky Topics at the top of some forums. Like this one.

#2. Search - (I know, it s*cks) The Search Engine that we have is horrible at best, but it is the only one that we have. Having said that, the Search Engine is only good for the Forum that you are in (ie=FZR 1000 89-95, General Discussion, Tech Tips, and so forth) A tip to make the search yield greater results:
When in a paticular forum that has multiple pages, click on each page and let it load completely until you have viewed every page in the forum. Upon reaching the last page you can now do your search and have a greater chance of finding what you are looking for.

#3. Ask your question - Do not be scared to ask a question. It is not a stupid question if you do not know the answer. Think about the question that you are asking. Is it bike specific or general, meaning does it go in Tech Tips, General Discussion, or Bike specific (ie=FZR 1000 89-95) It is not necessary to post in all three. Many members read through all of the new posts. Your question will get a response.

#4. Answer a Question - If you know the answer, blurt it out. Do not be scared, if it is the wrong answer, you will be corrected, but you will learn something none-the-less. I have been wrong before, and I will be wrong again, but it does not stop me from participating.

#5. Play nice - You will not find any flaming, hating, or bashing here so do not bring any with you to the forum. If you are going to pick on someone in good humor, please use smilies/emoticons. Example:

Wrong way - Tim you're a dumb@$$!!!!
Correct way - Tim, I'm a dumb@$$!!!! <img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... ock_On.gif ALT=":rock">

#6. Check your mail - You have a mail box, check it every once in a while. It could also be called PM or Private Messaging. Several of us use this to talk off-board. You can find it near the upper right corner where it says, umm..... In-Box.

Side Notes and Tips:
Check THIS LINK if you want to find out is someone lives close enough to hook up and go riding, or just to see where everyone is.

Another tip is to "double check" the Spell Check if you use it. For some reason it does not like FZR1000 and turns it into some banned word like %word%$^@!&*00RU

Anyone else want to add to the topic, then we will treat it like the "Links Sticky". A worthy Tip gets added to the list.

Tim
<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ...
Insert Joke Here
Dir. of Entertainment Eddie & the Cruisers
'94 FZR 1000
Edited by: <A HREF=http://p072.ezboard.com/bexupbrotherhoo ... Something to add.

If you and another member are joking around with eachother, USE SMILIES. Sometimes people take whats said the wrong way. Unlike chatting in person where you can see sarcasm and joking around in their face and gestures, you dont see that on a message board.
Rob
