NEWBIE from NYC
I don't know which section to post in since my bike is a hybrid. I'm new here, I live in NYC. I work in a bike shop that services only 70s-80s Jap bikes. About the bike: It's a 1988 FZR1000 genesis, it has a motor swapped in from a 1997 YZF1000R (Thunderace). My last bike was a 1985 Honda VF700F interceptor, and before that I had an '82 Kawasaki KZ750. I've owned several GPz550's, KZ900/1000/1100's, many dual-sport/trail/dirtbikes, and a few 4-wheel drive off-road vehicles (Currently an '83 Toyota 4x4 pickup). I've spent much of this riding season on dirtbikes. I currently have a 1996 Honda XR200R.

Welcome to the board, nice bike, interesting choice of color mix, it works though. If you are interested, do a search on the forum, there are members with a street fighter conversions that would complete the look of your bike (handlebars). Link are posted on the thread...
Hows the riding scene in NYC? Always wanted to ride in a big city, but too far away and I like country life...

Hello,
Hehe no, my bike's no fighter, but I am known for going "naked" more than leaving the fairings on. My upper is a bit cracked from the prev. owner knocking it over in his garage, so I'm looking for an upper. Lowers in good condition. The color(s) choice was made by the last owner as well... I'm looking into painting the bike its original white / blue decals scheme. Problem is, I've gotta get it perfect mechanically first! Still overheats when in stop n go traffic, needs an exhaust, a new set of carbs would help too. When I bought this bike earlier this year, It didn't run, sat for a few years. Been doing stuff like buying new tires, chain, sprockets, rebuilding carbs and hydraulics, just changed the front fairing stay.... Bike was $500.00 (can't go wrong). I'll post some fully faired pics next. The riding in NYC isn't too bad, but I always try to get out of the city to enjoy the roads. I hate traffic!! (so does my cooling system).

Can anyone give me advice on how to create a sig? I can't for the life of me figure out how to do one.
