SV site?

Post by straygator »

I've noticed a few guy here are riding SV's. I bought one to make available for non-riders to go riding with me (and to have a backup to work on my FZR1K) I'm up here in NY with it and put 500 mi on it last week . So I want to do some things to it and would like a site to go to as good as this one, but for the suzuki. I must get a 1/4 fairing, a tankbag and a oil change ASAP. I couldn't even find a quick clip for my helmet strap at half a dozen shops ... must of gotten spoiled in S.FL with a dealer on every corner with every thing on the shelf.

Thanks for any help.
Paul

PS: this things a hoot, so easy to get around the city ... jumping curbs, scooting down the sidewalks, but it doen't split lanes as well as the FZR because it feels WIDER???

Thanks, I found it !!! Matter of fact I already belong ... bought the bike in May, but didn't pick it up till I got to NY last month and forgot. Going to a meet at High Point. Strange I never got to a brotherhood meet and now I go here after second post. I'm still a FZRer FIRST !!!

The SV Portal is great - come in and say hello.

There seems to be a few more of us finding out the SV way of riding now.

No offence , but I'll have to go with Doug's silver one as it has dual Yosh cans. To me, a V-Twin sounds sooooo much better out of dual Yoshi's.

They all look sweet BTW.
There are some who call me........Tim?

Heck, who wouldn't ? !! SV1K's are the da stuff. My 650 is essentially the same frame but with lighter springs and the 650 motor. Hmmm, I wonder if a SV1K pipe can fit the 650 ?

New pics. Just cleaned off the dust and dirt from the rain I rode through on Friday morning and lubed up the chain. Mods are on in this one. Shorter tail piece, extra tall windshield and handguards to slow the cold air of winter down. She's also wearing 70-series Bridgestone BT021 tires which I like a lot. For some reason she just rides a little better when the tach hits 7.5K with these tires.

Yeah, they sound quite different, personally I like the 2:1 sound better, and from my riders seat the airbox noise actually is louder than the pipe during normal riding!!!(I've removed the 'snorkle' and raised the tank 20mm), so you get the best of both worlds.

The 2:1 is also 26 lbs lighter than std pipes which brings the overall bike weight down to around 175 kgs!!!!! :banana :banana

Just like our FZR's, less weight is better.

yeah but I love my dual CF cans.

if it werent for the want of luggage ability, I would go to dual highmounts and get the TI header for it. but I want to be able to use saddlebags.

I like both of yours. the black on silvers is nice!

I just made some 16mm tank spacers last night from delrin on a lathe and will yank the snorkle when I do it :)

by next week I hope to finish taking stickers off and get her washed and maybe waxed for the winter and get some pics of my own.

silver, get some extra rear sets and pass pegs and get em powdercoated to match the frame, that would be uber sexy!
