Death of a Member from Tenn. USA

It is with deep regret that I have to be the bearer of bad news. One of our friends from this forum was killed today in a motorcycle accident on his way into work.
John Douglas aka Silver was a great friend and devoted Husband and Father of two.
Although he and I never met face to face, we had many a long conversation on the board and on the phone, we were closer than most who see their friends everyday. I can't tell you how much he meant to his family. Heck, I'd call down there to talk to John and wind up talking to Karen, his wife, for an hour or two. Some of the best folks you could ever meet. She would go on and on about all the things he was doing to make their lives better.

A Wartrace man died early Monday afternoon when his Suzuki SV6 motorcycle collided with a Tyson feed truck at 5099 Highway 64 east, in front of the Jimmy Hawkins Farm.
John Stanley Douglas, 46, was killed instantly, said Tennessee State Trooper Chad McAnally.
"The feed truck was traveling east on 64 and it was slowing to make a left turn to go to the chicken barns," said McAnally. "There was a Sequatchie dump truck behind the feed truck and the motorcycle was behind the dump truck. He pulled out to pass them both."
McAnally said he was told by the driver of the dump truck that Douglas appeared to speed up as he passed him.
"I think he thought he could get by the feed truck," the trooper said.
Instead, the motorcycle struck the front left fender and wheel of the semi and was knocked beneath the truck. Douglas's body came to rest on the other side of the feed truck and the motorcycle was crushed beneath the rear wheels.
The Tyson driver, Eddie Wayne Sells, 56, of Huntland, was unharmed, and no charges will be filed.
"All of his equipment was working, including turn signals," said McAnally, who tested the equipment and confirmed it with the driver of the dump truck and other witnesses. "Speed was definitely a factor
