Hi all<br><br>I originally posted this question under the real exup slot i.e. '89 to '95 models.<br><br>Does anyone know EXACTLY how the dipped beam works on the '93 UK FZR1000exupRU model? If it works through the bulb or casing i'm a happy chappie. If it is the lens (glass) then I'm screwed!<br><br>All help much appreciated. <p></p><i></i>

Hullo,<br>It depends what part of the dipped beam you are reffering to the bulb provides the actual difference in light output ie more light on high beam than low beam and when it changes to high beam it activates a filament that will throw light higher, if you have a good look at your bulb when it's going you'll see the difference depending on what filament is going.As for the pattern of light on the road that is done through the headlight lense many modern vehicles have what is called a high intensity cut off pattern on low beam the light is cut off above a certain point but remains bright right up to that point hence the name, you can actually see the pattern on the headlight lense running straight across the lense about halfway up and then angling up on the left hand side or the right hand side depending on what side of the road you drive on.<br>hope that helps all the best<br>fzrnut<!--EZCODE EMOTICON START :hat --><img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/pimp.gif ALT=":hat"><!--EZCODE EMOTICON END--> <p></p><i></i>

Thanks for your post. Damn and double damn that means I need a UK lens and why are they so f*#[ing expensive? Don't they drive on the left in Japan? When (or even if) I get one I will not begrudge the price of a protector. <p></p><i></i>
