Trying to suss my mileage

Hi brothers<br>Just fit some new front wheel bearings to my 89 exup. It has never had the original speedo in the 5 years that I've owned it so I've no idea how many miles it's done. ive had a fzr600 and got a fzr1000exup both have needed the front discs replaceing between 20000 miles and 25000miles also look at the front footpeg rubbers they seem to be quite worn on the gear side by 20000 miles and front folk seals seem to go by 18 to 23000 miles hope this helps but all riding styles may cause different wear my bikes have been riden quite swiftly and kept in a garage, id get your valves checked out they need adjusting by 24000 miles or you may burn em. <p></p><i></i>

Cheers Chip<br> I was reckoning around 25,000 you are right about the valves I had them re-shimed last year and the mechanic reckoned I'd timed it just about right and the top end was in exellent condition. I was concerned about timing chain wear but he said it was fine, so maybe it had been changed by a previous owner. Footpeg rubbers are pretty much worn out. Direct swap and for about $75-125 for the pair US dollars really a great deal. It looks like the ducati 748 / 916 / 996 all are direct swaps.<br><br>Check <!--EZCODE LINK START--><a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... AMEWN%3AIT" target="top">here</a><!--EZCODE LINK END--> to see what I just got on ebay not too long ago (my 2nd set for different bikes). So I can say they are real stoppers!<br><br>Only thing I can say is...now it seems like the newest ducati's...talking 2004 models...one of them I have heard a rumor that they have a smaller diamter hub...so these are exempt from the compatibility.<br><br> <p>-John</p><i></i>
