The site is a great tutorial on how a carb works and for the most part can be applied to street engines. The tutorial deals with motocross carbs specifically and these are somwhat simpler than the CV carbs on street bikes. The only thing to consider is that the throttle position is not directly linked to a specific circuit on a CV carb. What I mean by this is that the specific circuit that is controlling the fuel mixture depends on the air demand. flyingcircus68 - i noticed that it wasnt for road bikes because they say things like "do a full throttle run and pull over and check spark plugs", which is rather inconvenient...<br><br>do you know of any similar docs for road bikes? <p></p><i></i>

The roadside test can be done on a FZR 1000, just with CAUTION. To get the BEST jetting on one once, I pulled the fairings off, let er rip up top and shut it off and roll to a stop. Then I proceeded to burn the ever living $h!t out of myself getting the plugs out. Did I get em, well almost all of them. <br>Point being, it can be done. Now needless to say, I have pretty much got the FZR w/ EXUP down to a science when it comes to jetting. The funny part as you all know, stock jetting is right on. Needles are so easy to mess with to get right, Needle jet tubes(emulsion tubes); well you know, and float level, dead on or 1mm lower if needed. I just want to say that the above is not my statement, nor do I endorse the view point it conveys.
