Age old tyre questions

Post by mintclint »

Well guys, my bike is a day away form getting licensed. Im so stoked. Took it for its first ride today with the dealer plate on and just didnt feel confident in the hoops, they felt so skatey. Almost like I was getting no feedback. Had new Bridgy BT012SS fitted. Got back to the workshop and asked the mech what pressures he put in it. Told me 36-38. Now, when I was a young hoon I ran 28-32 and never felt unsure. Always run bridgys too so they feel familiar to me. What pressure do you guys run in what tyres for what use? I'll set them myself until I feel happy with them but just wanted to see what everyone else was running and how you felt about them.

Finished project photo's to follow soon <img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... Clint,
I'm riding with 30 to 32 psi in my tires on the street. 30 psi (front/rear) in the winter when it's cooler. 31 psi in the summer when it's warmer, and 32 psi in the rear if I'm riding two-up with a passenger. (Dunlop D208)
Don

32 front, 36 rear, tyres are Pirelli. But the handling has not been as it should be. One leaking seal and a rear shock that has no rebound damping adjustment. All in the process of being sorted out<img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... ananna.gif ALT=":banana"> <img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... ananna.gif ALT=":banana"> .

<img src=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v209/ ... around 30psi both rear and front on track with bridge 002R, and 36front 38rear on road... trying to avoid tyres overheating on road.
