DIY - Paintless Dent Removal (the lazy/cheap way)

Post by M Hankel »

Hopefully this isn't a re-post...........

So, I was cruising another website and came across an interesting way to remove dents.

http://www.wisebread.com/remove-car-den ... nd-cheaply

I have a dent in each side of my gas tank, and I think I'm going to try this technique, and see how it goes. You can see the dent in one side here in this pic. There is nearly an identical dent on the other side of the tank in the same spot.

I'll post up some pics after the "experiment" lol.... :)

Haven't seen those tricks before, any idea if they will work on plastic bumpers as well?

Cheers

Ive tried this using a hair dryer and a can of plumers freeze spray. It didnt work as hoped :(

But to be honest I dont think the hair dryer gave off enough heat for the metal to react. I know that scientificly this will work, as shown in the video.
Ill have another go with a better heat source :P

Just make sure you gradually heat the area! Too much heat, too fast will result in a new paint job :)
