Wiring Gurus please
I'm trying to fit L/H switchgear from a Suzi, 'cos I want the bar mounted choke lever, among other considerations.
Problem is the Yami switch seems to be two switches in one, the dark green, brown and brown/white wires which are turn left and turn right, plus (and this is the issue) yellow/red and black, which seem to be a switched earth for the turn signal relay.
The Suzi just has the obvious three, not the switched earth. How can I get around this????
Cheers for any advice guys,
John

Yeah cheers Jon,
The Ace has a bar mounted choke lever?
I didn't know.
ARSE!!!
Anyway, I've got the Suzi unit now and it's perdy so I wondered if i could by-pass the switched earth somehow.
If not, I'll look for an Ace unit.
Cheers

I guess this is not the YZF750 LH handlebar switch?
I looked at the wiring diagram of that one and the green is headlights, and black is straight to earth.
If they differ that much it might be worth forgetting about the original wiring and build a parallel system to do the turn signals, preferably using an electronic flasher relay. Give me a diagram of your bike and I can look into it.

Thanks Thom,
No, it's a '90 FZR1000 (or it was when I started).
I hadn't considered wiring for flashers seperately, and it's not a half bad idea (I mean it's a good one)!!!
I haven't made much progress in the last year, due to laziness, injury, my girlfriend, illness and and kids, basically in that order... but I've got a week off work between Xmas and New Year, my girlfriend's working, my kids are with their mum and I was going to go snowboarding but now it doesn't seem like a hot idea so the project may well see some progress!
Thanks for all your input guys!

If you can draw me a detailed diagram of everything, including the way it is now and the way you'd like it to be, I should be able to help you out John.
Michael
Yes Yes I know, I said, I'm building a project YZF1070
Basement is done now, 850 finished and gone...
Gotta get the new siding up on the house.
Fixing the FZ1 up, cleaning up garage and then I might even begin

John,
I guess I should amend my last post not to saw, " draw it the way you want it to be," to, "Tell me how you want it to work and then I can draw things out for you the way it should be.
BTW, there used to be a universal switch you could get with choke and the Euro pass button, cost about $70
