EXUP Worldwide was born from the ashes of the original EXUP Brotherhood – the definitive forum for all those who have interest in Yamaha FZ, FZR, and YZF motorcycles.
Any comments around what differences big/small sprockets make (what I mean is, for example 15/45 and 16/48 both give exactly the same final gearing but is there an additional effect due to bigger / smaller sprockets at the countershaft and rear sprocket)
My feeling is that even if the final gearing is the same, there must be some effect when the engine is turning a smaller countershaft sprocket and/or turning a larger rear sprocket.
