Does anyone know whether its possible to get Yamaha's Silky White paint colour for a small fairing touch-up, I have a few cracks which I am going to repair with some form of plastic repair kit and just want to hide the marks for this summer and get it sorted properly next winter - I'm going the DIY route cos local companies are asking £120!! to repair 4 small cracks and paint.....

Thanks<img src=

Simon,

Go to a proper paint outlet, not Halfords or a local motor factors. You may have to take a piece of the fairing with you for a paint match, you want 2 pack, perferably ICI, base coat. They will probably do you 1/2 a litre of the stuff and it will cost you about £30. I use a company in Birmingham called Rapid Paint, very good firm, recomend to anyone.

Rob

Yeah but most 2 pack is quite carcinogenic. Air fed respirators are required, plenty of people have shortened their lives unwittingly.

Yes it is leathal stuff when inhaled as airbourne, but I believe he's using it to touch up, not spraying.

The by-product of this paint is cyanide based, DO NOT use without breathing equipment.

Rob
