petcock stuck on reserve

Post by MoPowa »

I have a '93 FZR1000EC that I purchased new 11 years ago. A few months ago I noticed that the petcock was stuck on reserve. I've tested the rocker switch on the dash and it turned out fine. I then replaced the in-tank petcock--still didn't fix it. Then I replaced the relay next to the fuse panel--still not fixed. What am I overlooking? Help!!!

in tank sensor

You mentioned changing the petcock, but not the intank sensor. This is rarely working in the fzr family. I have tried replacing everything like yourself, but the only thing that helps is the intank sensor replacement. If that is what you replaced and not the petcock than I have no ideas for you, good luck. I just know how far I can ride before refill and only trust my own calculations for fuel mileage.
