Got a problem on my '94 exup, the disc on the RH has started to catch the inside edge of the caliper.<br><br>From what I can see, it looks like the RH fork leg is too far over, the gap being larger on the RH side to the LH between fork leg and wheel by about 10/12mm.<br><br>I cannot see any damage to the fork leg or stantion at all, no marks nothing, and as this is an USD fork, I would presume be quite strong. Ive only had the bike for a few months and it does look in good condition, but its history is unknown.<br><br>Now am I right in thinking it's a bent fork leg or it there some adjustment that I'm missing.<br><br>Also started getting bad vibration under braking above 100mph. Possible warped disc. <p></p><i></i>

have you checked your bearings? Also, check the torque on all the fasteners. If they were loose, your axle might be bent. <p></p><i></i>

Could possibly be a bent wheel. Tweaked at the hub so to speak. But only slightly? Just a guess. <br>Someone wrecked my old GS550 and the same thing happened. E-P, Had the same problem on my '92, and It did have a bent fork leg. Same as you'rs I got it with an unknown history. The tell-tale was grating marks on the frame up by the engine mounts on one side. I'm assuming you've had you'r fairings off?<br> New body work can hide a lot of sins. Hope it is the axle for you'r sake. The symptom on mine was an upper tripple clamp that wouldn't stay straight no matter how I adjusted the forks. Lets hope it is the axle or bearings. Oh, the bent tube was finally spotted the second time the forks were apart for springs and re-valving, had to set it up in V-blocks and use a dial indicator to spot it, but the new tube straightened the forks out. Parts were available but on back-order when the work was done in '00. Spendy too, about $250 if I remember right. Maybe there's a 'Zuki set-up that would work? I would suspect a warped disc (dished) you will need a straight edge to check it ( 12" rule being ideal) place it across the disc and you will plainly see any dishing of the disc, if it's OK you may find someone has left out/incorrectly fitted the front wheel spacers there should be one each side sitting inside and protruding from the seals.<br> good luck<br> chris <p></p><i></i>

Well, I think I've exhausted all other avenues, I bolted a DTI onto the caliper mounts on the fork leg and spun the wheel, she didnt even deviate by .25mm, so the discs are ok, bearings feel good and show no signs of pitting etc, shaft is straight and true.<br><br>Looks like a bent fork leg, where did I put the number for straightners'?<br><br>Rob <p></p><i></i>

OH man, that's not good! These things are pretty spendy. I don't know about straightening. Usually this process scratches or chips the chrome fininsh on teh leg, thusby blowing seals like a mad man. I feel for you, I got 2 new ones @ $255.00 EACH!!!!! and never even installed them. 91-93 though so it doesn't do you much good. If you can't find one used or new at a good rate let me know. According to my parts source they run about $365.00 each (OUUCCHHH!!), and the best I could do would be $328.00. Again we feel your pain. <br><br>CHUCK D.<br> <p></p><i></i>

That ABE looks like a pretty good deal Rob, I like to hear how that works out. I did try to straighten my own, But I got in a hurry and took it to a shop that wasn't qualified. The original fork leg was ruined in the process, I'm not sure if it could have been saved or not. The ABE shop looks a lot better than what I found, I'll wish you luck. Are there any state-side members who know of shops that do this? <p></p><i></i>

Could a weak spring or low level of fork oil cause wheel wobble ?

Silver, did you realize that post is three years old and those people have long since sold off their FZR's?

Well I realized that the post was three years old but no less appropriate to the exact same problem that I'm now having. We've been around this turn before and I asked then if it would be better to simply start a new thread . I don't see how but I'm game. This is why I suggested that someone knit all of these older posts into an FAQ.

Well, with nearly 45,000 posts, we can aways elect you to do it John.

Personally I think, to do this FAQ would require someone with Tons-o-Experience with both the FZR's and YZF's, some background in English (the written part), skills in Document writing, and lastly, someone with a cubic-buttload of time.

But hey..... if you want to tackle it..... let me John or Jason know.

I'd be glad to help in any way possible. Just as soon as I get this front-end issue resolved !

It's definitely not a one-man job. A collaborative. But in my opinion it would be a good deal simpler to look in a FAQ than to search through the forum and try to glean info from 3 year old posts.
