As for Yamaha parts - none that will do you better. An FJ1200 rim '89 and later will bolt up, but it is only 3.0 inches wide. The FJ folks look for th 87/88 FZR front rims to upgrade to a 3.5" rim.

Maybe you can find a Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki rim to fit.

To do some research, try going to <a href="http://www.powersportspro.com/partsfish ...

Then look up a bearing supply house on line that lists the bearing numbers and their sizes. <a href="http://www.bearingsdirect.com/product.h ...

Then you will know what SHOULD fit the 15 mm axle. I say SHOULD because you are depending on the parts fiche to list the correct bearing number, and the bearing supply to me the right dimensions listed - I have experienced both problems in the past. Also, you may find a bearing you can swap to adapt it to a different sized axle. The all you have to do is have some spacers machine to center the rim and possibly make some brackets to adapt the brake calipers to the new disc spacing.

Good luck

Chuck D,

I thought the 87/88 had a 15 mm diameter front axle (uses a 6302 bearing) vs a 17 mm axle for the 89-93 (a 6203 bearing). If not, I got some bad poop from the FJ1200 site on Yahoo, and probably passed up some good rims looking for just an 87/88 model.

What size axle do the 94/95 use? 20mm? or 22mm like the YZF1000/R1/R6?

barneyfzr600,
I made the assumption you are looking for an upgrade -- are you looking to make repairs? and maybe upgrade at the same time if possible?

Chris

Thats exactly what I'm doin. Got this sweet '88 FZR 1K with stage 3 jet kit, polished frame, and polished swingarm for $1000. It needed the majority of the front end. So, I was thinkin why not, since I already have to do it!!!!

I don't believ so, but can't confirm. The 87-93 wheels are all the same, just use different bearings in the 91-93. In the 94 FZR1000, they switched to the same rim as the YZF 750 to keeep costs down, 1 mold, 1 rim. The R1 and R6 family is totally different. I've been told that the YZF 600 front rim is the same as the 750, but can;t say that I've tried it.

CHUCK D.
