Rear Linkage FZR 1000 German import 1991

Just scraped through the MOT as the rear linkage has had all the bushes and bearing renewed along with the bolts but there is still a little play when you lift the rear wheel he said it won't pass next year any ideas.<br>lonesome <p></p><i></i>

Where did he check for play from? The specific part of the bike he grabbed may give you a clue on another area to check as he may have felt movement and assumed it was the linkage. If you have replaced all the bearings in the linkage, and it was done properly, and you still have vertical play in the swinging arm the only places that could be worn are the upper/lower shock mount holes/bolts or the forward linkage hole/bolt.<br> If you support the rear wheel off the ground by using a jack under the EXUP valve and move the swinging arm up and down you should be able to see/feel where the wear is.<br> The manual states the service limit at the wheel end of the swinging arm is 1mm up/down movement.<br> good luck<br> chris <p></p><i></i>
